God’s Plans

God’s Plans

Our Bible Verse this week tells us God has a plan for our future and it’s greater than we could have ever imagined. Jeremiah 29:11 This week in our lesson we imagined what the story of Noah and the Ark would have been like if Noah hadn’t followed God’s plan and had just done what was easy. This week, look up the actual story of Noah following God’s plan in Genesis 6:1-9:17. Blind fold one member of the family and then create an obstacle course in your living room made out of chairs, pillows, toys, etc. The blindfolded person has to walk through the obstacle course and each step of the way listen to your directions to successfully complete the course. After they’ve completed the course, talk about how just like they needed to listen and follow your directions, we need to seek and obey God’s directions. He can see the entire course and knows much more about it than we could ever know. We have to trust Him because He knows the best way to get us to where we need to go. Some ways that we can seek and obey God’s will is through reading His Word, praying and going to church. As a parent, one night this week tell your kids the story of your journey with God. Talk through some of the ways you have seen God’s plan unfold in your life. Maybe explain how it wasn’t always what you expected and sometimes it was a lot of hard work. However, by being obedient and seeking His will, you have been blessed to play a part in His plan and it was even more than you could imagine. Explain that just because God has a plan for our future that doesn’t mean everything will be easy. It is our job to be obedient and constantly seek His will each step of the way, no matter what.
