The new group season begins August 1st, 2018. Hope you have enjoyed your summer vacation, making lots of fun memories with your family. We are looking forward to seeing you all again in your groups! We at Suncoast Kids Place wanted to provide you and your family with some positive fun encouragement to start your back to school season.
Suncoast Kids Place was well represented at the National Alliance for Grieving Children's (NAGC) 22nd annual Symposium in San Antonio, Texas. Three staff members attended to learn the latest trends, theories and practices related to children's grief; as well as, engage with colleagues, clinicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals, around the world working in the field of children’s grief. Suncoast Kids Place presented three workshops while at the symposium, spreading the tools and knowledge we have learned to others.
Suncoast Kids Place will be hosting Camp Erin Tampa Bay which is a transformational weekend camp specifically designed for kids and teens, ages 6-17, who have experienced the death of a significant person. Camp Erin combines traditional, fun camp activities with grief education and emotional support, and is free of charge for all families. Led by grief professionals and trained volunteers, Camp Erin provides a unique opportunity for youth to increase levels of hope, enhance self-esteem, and most importantly to learn that they are not alone. Begin talking with your child(ren) about their interest in joining us for this incredible adventure. Camper and Volunteer applications will become available on Monday, September 10th, 2018!
