Flyovers take patience and precise timing By AIRMAN PEDRO MOTA 56TH FIGHTER WING PUBLIC AFFAIRS

They are breathtaking, flawless and can cause the viewer to have goosebumps. They look easy, but, according to those who perform them, flyovers take training, skill and precise decisions to execute. The most recent flown in the area was the Super Bowl flyover, where the Thunderbirds, officially known as the U.S. Air Force Aerial Demonstration Squadron, passed over University of Phoenix Stadium in a Delta formation, a tight six-aircraft V formation. “The process starts when wing headquarters coordinates with the agency,” said Maj. Michael Artiges,

Lt. Col. Michael Ebner, 61st Fighter Squadron commander, Maj. Joshua Arki, 61st FS, Maj. Matthew Olson, 56th Operations Group, and Maj. John Wilson, 61st FS assistant director of operations, and Lt. Col. Gregory Frana, 61st FS director of operations, make their way to the flightline Jan. 25 as they prepare for the first-ever F-35 Lightning II joint strike fighter flyover at the 2015 Pro Bowl played at the University of Phoenix Stadium. . The flight was precision timed for the four-ship formation to fly over the open roof of the stadium as Jordan Sparks sang the final words to the national anthem.

INTERNATIONAL OPPORTUNITY. HOMETOWN HOSPITALITY.

308th Fighter Squadron assistant director of operations. “The direction of the flyover is determined by the organizer.” After the target is chosen, the pilots are given a general way of getting in and out of the area, usually arriving within 10 to 15 minutes, with a specific speed and altitude determined by Air Force operational and public event regulations. “Aircraft avionics give the pilot the necessary information to reach the target at specific time,” Artiges said. “For instance, this particular flyover had to come at the end of the national anthem, at the right moment, to make a better impact on the crowd.” MORE FLYOVERS ON 6

From the Desk of Fighter Country Partnership

Fighter Country Foundation steps it up a notch We are excited to unveil a new initiative within the operations of Fighter Country Foundation…the “FAAR Fund” (Facility Advancement And Relief Fund). As FCP and FCF continue forward with sustaining its important role of providing programs and services that are geared towards Health & Human Services, Culture & Tradition and Mission Sustainability, we will also add to the resume of supporting “facilities” on the base directly. We recently got word from the Department of the Air Force that our request to “renovate Luke Fire House #1” has been approved, which has been an internal initiative for years in the making. This is an unprecedented event, and with most things FCP and FCF do, hasn’t been done anywhere

else in the country. There are plenty of public-public/public-private relationships across the country that are “mutually beneficial” relationships between an installation and a third party, but the fact that our offer to the Air Force is simply a “gift” is what sets us apart. This initiative exists simply “because we want to do it.” Luke Fire House #1 is a community asset just as much as it’s a Luke asset. Luke’s first responders answered over 200 calls outside the fence line last year by being a part of the Automatic Aid Response Program, and more than 300 calls in 2013. If you have been reading our articles, then I don’t need to educate you that the military budgets are continuously declining and sequestration has added to the challenge.

Ron Sites President and Executive Director Fighter Country Partnership

It isn’t that Luke doesn’t want to renovate their fire station; it’s more like they can’t, and rightfully so. Luke’s primary mission is to train the world’s greatest fighter pilots while deploy-

ing mission ready war fighters. As they focus on that mission, the items that are “mission critical” are going to get their attention prior to other items, like a renovation request. This is where FCP

& FCF become very unique. We work with senior leadership at Luke AFB to first ensure they like the programs we wish to initiate, and then we charge ahead. We know Luke wants to renovate its fire house, but a few cracked tiles and some torn carpet don’t stop our topnotch fire fighters from accomplishing their mission. The fact of the matter is this, if we want to see Luke Fire House #1 get renovated…we need to do it, so we are. It is a simple project; with the main emphasis being a new kitchen and eating area. The total project cost is approximately $200,000, and we need to thank Butler Design Group, Willmeng Construction and LaneTerralever for the donated efforts they have contributed thus far. The collaborations and partnerships FCP &

FCF have to work with allow projects like this to be completed way under budget because we can ask for things to be donated or reduced, and the military can’t operate in that fashion. Now that the “Offer of Gift” has been approved, FCF can now officially move towards raising the funds. This initial FAAR Fund project will prove lots of things. It will prove to us that we can do it. It will prove to the community that we can do it. But most importantly, it will prove to the military that we can do it!!! We will document our progress and continue to report back. This is just the start of many projects that FAAR can focus on, but let’s walk before we run. And WALK PROUDLY!!!! Good Stuff, Regards, Ron Sites

Join the 2015 March of the Fallen at Verrado Golf Club March of the Fallen (MOTF) is a 4.5-mile ruckmarch April 11 through the White Tank Mountains dedicated to honoring our fallen brothers and sisters who gave the ultimate sacrifice during the war efforts of Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), and Operation New Dawn (OND). Their watch is over now, so we carry their weight upon our backs and continue onward in their honor. • Participants can “Ruck,” ‘Motivate,” or be a “Battle Buddy,” but each person holds an obligation. • People rucking will be tasked with carrying the weight on their back as our fallen once did. • You must provide your own ruck and weight for the march. • Each rucksack will be weighed pre/post march. • The weight categories are: 45lbs / 60lbs / 75lbs • “Motivators” will accompany the marchers side by side to encourage, and help participants march the required distance. For

ly the minimum weight one must carry while deployed.

ages 14 and up only. • “Battle Buddys” will be tasked with carrying 0lbs – 15lbs. This category is for ages 8 to 13. • The official distinguished MOTF T-shirt will be issued to you upon completion of the march. • All net proceeds will be donated to the the Luke Airmen’s Fund and other

charitable organizations that further help our nation’s heroes. • Volunteers are welcome to sign up. Volunteers, please be at Verrado by 6 a.m. April 11. If you cannot make the event but wish to make a donation please click the “donate button” above. All participants who wish to

participate in MOTF 2015, register at www.fightercountry.org/MOTF. Why 4.5 miles and 45 lbs. minimum weight? According to the CRS Report for Congress, America lost 6,791 brothers and sisters in arms during OND, OIF and OEF. Broken down to meters

and converted to miles is approximately 4.2 miles. However, for the 2014 MOTF we will ruck 4.5 miles on the route. This is a little bit further than lost soldiers, but we figure they went further for us so going the extra distance is OK. The 45-lb minimum weight is approximate-

IMS Arizona Marathon has best year ever

The Seventh Annual IMS Arizona Marathon swept through the West Valley Feb. 15, and it was the best year yet. With a full, half, and relay marathon as well as a 5K Color Dash, the event cumulatively brought more than 2.500 runners to a sensational finish at the Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale. A unique addition to

the 2015 event was the event’s Fighter Country Partnership as all full, half, and relay marathon participants ran on Luke Air Force Base. As runners entered, military members greeted them with cheers and enthusiasm, a change that sparked glowing reviews from participants. Additionally, when more than 200 Desert Horizon Elementary School half

marathon participants ran through LAFB, airmen volunteered to run from the base – ran the final six miles with them as extra pacers and motivators, a genuinely amazing experience for everyone involved. In all, the LAFB experience brought the IMS Arizona Marathon to the next level. As in years past, the IMS Arizona Marathon

FLYOVERS: From 1

Because every singer has their own timing and unique finish to the national anthem, a pilot is placed at the event to coordinate the timing of the pilots to fly over precisely at the end of the song. Knowing the location of the jets, the pilot at the event instructs the formation of jets to slow or increase their speed, so they arrive with exact timing. “It’s a matter of being on time when you’re flying this type of flyover,” Artiges said. “The type of aircraft and formation plays an important role as well.” The most common F-16 flyover is called the fourship fingertip formation, while the Thunderbirds present six-ship formations. Along with pilots, the maintainers play an important role in accomplishing a flyover. They’re given a schedule telling them when the pilots will arrive and the time the jets need to be ready and postured. Once the jet is ready, the maintainers must execute the take-off sequence in a timely manner, avoiding late takeoffs or ground aborts. “The biggest thing is teamwork,” said Master Sgt. James Yount, 61st Aircraft Maintenance Unit F-35 lead production superintendent. “The pilots are able to execute the mission well with all the information they’re given, while the maintainers work together with operations to ensure the event is executed on time. It requires a lot of time and patience to execute a flyover perfectly.”

Honorary Commander feature: Charley Freericks

Fighter Country Partnership is proud to feature Charley Freericks, President of DMB, past Chairman of the Board for Fighter Country Partnership, and former Honorary Commander to the 56th Fighter Wing Commander at Luke Air Force Base. As President, Freericks is responsible for strategic management and leadership of DMB’s Arizona activities. He has over 17 years of experience with the company, including executive leadership roles and overseeing master planned community and commercial development operations. For over 30 years, DMB has been developing properties and communities that respect the land and enrich the lives of our residents and value for our stakeholders. As a diversified real estate investment and development firm, DMB has property holdings that include primary residential and resort/recreational communities, signature commercial developments, health clubs and spas in Arizona, California, Utah and Hawaii. Freericks is an active contributor to Arizona organizations that enhance our

community and business environment, including serving as board member and past chairman with Fighter Country Partnership (Luke Air Force Base), and several industry associations. Prior to joining DMB in 1997, Freericks served as President of Talley Realty Group, a real estate development and finance division of Talley Industries, Inc. (NYSE), where he worked from 1989 to 1996. His background in real estate also includes serving as Senior Marketing Consultant for Grubb & Ellis Commercial Brokerage Services in Phoenix. Charley Freericks climbs aboard an F-16 Fighting Falcon during his orientation flight at Luke AFB.

1979 and currently resides in Scottsdale with his wife Cathy. He has two collegeage children Carter and Alexandra. When asked what it was like being an Honorary Commander at Luke AFB, he explained, “It is a tremendous opportunity that had a profound impact on me. As a civilian, spending time over a couple of years work-

ing and experiencing life with an Air Force officer or senior enlisted person is really a special and unique opportunity. Getting to know them and their families, and seeing what life is like in the USAF changed me in ways I could not have imagined. It re-inspired me as a patriotic American and gave me a new and great respect for those men and women who

serve our country.” The Honorary Commanders program provides a unique opportunity for a selected few community leaders to learn about the mission and people of Luke AFB, as well as the Air Force and the Department of Defense as a whole. “I have a deep appreciation for the base, U.S. Air Force and Luke since my exposure as an Honorary Commander. I appreciate the importance the base has to the region, Arizona and the West Valley, both as an employer and as an economic engine. I also have a deep respect for the contributions the people of Luke make to our community,” Mr. Freericks said. “Additionally, Luke plays a big role in our overall national defense. I learned that Luke AFB is a powerhouse in training pilots for the United States and our allies – 90 percent of the world’s F-16 pilots were and are trained here and the same will be true for the F-35.” “During the campaign to secure the F-35 mission for Luke I learned that Arizonans overwhelmingly support Luke, our “Hometown Air Force Base!”

“I know without question that the U.S. Air Force is the most dominant military machine in the world. The team goes in and out, completing missions effectively and efficiently, rarely losing equipment, people, or ground. After touring parts of the Persian Gulf on a DOD trip, I made the statement that nothing without feathers flies in the Middle East without permission from the US Air Force. I’m really glad they are on our side.” The Honorary Commanders program is designed to promote mutual partnerships with the local community and to promote a better understanding of the important Air Force mission. Its goal is to gain positive public opinion with influencers. Mr. Freericks believes that the program is meeting its goal. “I also feel strongly that you get out what you put into this program. And it goes both ways. If either party in this partnership, the civilian or the airman, doesn’t put much into this relationship, both sides fail. But if you put in the time, it MORE FREERICKS ON 9

is mutually beneficial and produces long-term impacts and friendships.” “For me personally, I found the two-year program so rewarding that almost eight years later, I’m still in contact with the friends I made during the program. In fact, my entire family recently visited Germany and stayed with friends who were assigned there after Luke. During the trip we visited with my former Honorary Commander who was in Germany too.” “The strength of this program is that not only was I exposed to life in the military, but the Air Force folks get to learn more about life as a civilian. Many of the leaders at Luke are getting close to retirement which happens pretty young in the Air Force. This program helps them start thinking about life after the Air Force. I have had the privilege to work with many to share ideas, advice and relationships to help make the transition into the private sector.” “One of the best parts of the program is the social aspect,” Mr. Freericks said. “I have been able to do all kinds of things with my Honorary Commanders

outside of Luke business and community events, to include concerts, parties, hockey games, family gatherings. Basically, I included them as part of my extended family. I’ve been to all kinds of formal events, graduations, retirements and sadly funerals – we were at war during my experience.” “We attended Luke Days Open House and Air Shows and I was there when the first F-35 arrived! I had the unique experience of having an extended honorary commander experience to bridge the time for Luke Forward – the F-35 campaign. Ultimately I got to serve with four Commanders each with distinct experiences.” Freericks has been one of the strongest supporters of Luke and Fighter Country Partnership for nearly a decade. His contributions are numerous. “I have been able to participate in the Honorary Commander program, and I went on to serve on the Board at Fighter Country Partnership which provides a lot of support to the Base and its people. During my tenure, I am most proud of my role as co-chair of the Luke Forward Campaign with Mayor Scruggs. This was an incredible and successful grassroots campaign

to win the F-35 school house mission. Being awarded this mission should secure Luke for 40-60 years as a vital piece of the U.S. Air Force strategy and plan. I chaired Fighter Country Partnership and still serve on the Board. I believe in the mission of this organization, supporting the men, women and families of Luke. On a very personal level, I have been “pen pals” with some of the folks that got deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan. There is nothing better than a Skype session to check in with friends a long way from home.” Charley concluded, “The Honorary Commander’s program had a profound impact on me. It re-inspired me as an American and introduced me to an entire community of people with values and integrity. It gave me new and great respect for those men and women who serve our county.” Ron Sites, President and Executive Director of Fighter Country Partnership said of Charley Freericks: “There was a time when the future of FCP was in the balance, and without the efforts and leadership of Mr. Freericks, we wouldn’t be having the successes we are today. For that, Luke AFB, the community and FCP are forever grateful.”

Luke AFB earns Hero award

Friday the 13th was a lucky day for United Blood Services and a celebration of saving lives. The efforts of blood drive coordinators throughout the state were applauded on Fri., Feb. 13, at Valentines for Life, United Blood Services premier annual awards luncheon. Last year, more than 1,000 o rg a n i z a t i o n s h o s t e d blood drives across Arizona, helping to provide 162,307 blood donations. Once separated into components, those donations saved more than 324,000 Arizona lives. Honored guests at the Valentines for Life event met and heard an inspiring story from Preston Smith, who is living proof that every blood donor counts. At just 14 months old, one blood donor helped save his life when he required surgery to repair a constriction in his heart. Preston grew up like any healthy boy, but during his senior year in high school, his condition deteriorated and he was placed at the top of

the transplant list. Fortunately, within hours, Preston’s life was saved again with a donor heart and three more blood donors. “I would not be alive today without the generosity of tissue and blood donors,” Preston said. “They gave me the gift of life and I don’t plan to waste a minute of it!” Of the 1,080 organizations that hosted blood drives across the state last year, 187 groups achieved Valentines for Life awards for reaching significant milestones in recruiting blood donors. Of those, 28 organizations earned the Hero Award, United Blood Services most prestigious achievement and an honor that is reached by less than three percent of all blood drive coordinators across Arizona. This dynamic group of coordinators provided the largest impact on the blood supply by going above and beyond with outstanding blood drive planning, as well as recruiting donors on diffi-

cult days or during times of the year when the need was most critical. With the support of their senior management and blood drive committees, the 28 Hero Award winners alone hosted 228 blood drives, providing Arizona patients with an amazing 11,261 lifesaving blood donations.

A credit score plays a major role when it comes to purchasing power. Lenders review credit reports and scores to determine a borrowers’ capacity for larger purchases such as an auto loan or mortgage. When borrowing, a lower score can mean higher rates and fees. That’s why it’s important to review your credit report periodically. The information on your report can impact your score, your loan qualification and how much you will have to pay to borrow money. According to Experian, a score above 700 usually suggests good credit management.1 This can include regularly paying bills on time, paying down debt, limiting credit card spending and not excessively applying for credit. But, following these steps doesn’t always guarantee a higher score. According to a 2013 study by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), some consumers’ scores are taking a hit due to errors. The FTC study found that 5% of consumers had an error on one of their three major credit reports that could lead to paying more for auto loans and insurance. Another 25% found errors that could impact their credit score.2 You can check your credit report with AnnualCreditReport.com, a centralized service where consumers can request their credit reports annually for free. Here are tips for correcting errors on your credit report: 1. Tell the reporting agency, in

writing, what information you think is inaccurate. Include copies of documentation supporting your claim (never include the originals). State the facts of your dispute clearly. You can dispute your credit report online on each credit reporting agency’s website or you can send your letter certified mail with a return receipt requested along with a copy of your credit report highlighting the inaccurate information. 2. Tell the information provider (the person or company that provided the information to the credit reporting agency), in writing, that you dispute the item(s) on your report. Use the address in your report, if no address is given call the provider and ask for the address. Send your letter certified mail with a return receipt requested. 3. If the information is reported to more than one bureau, contact all three bureaus. The three credit reporting agencies do not share information with one another. Unless you are changing the information with your actual lender, you will have to contact all three credit reporting agencies to update your status. To see how you can start improving your credit visit Credit Union West. Every branch has a friendly team trained in advanced credit score review, helping you understand your credit report and offering tips on how to boost your score. 1Source: www.experian.com 2Source: www.consumer.ftc.gov

The Nationwide Wings of Freedom Tour is celebrating its 26th year and visits an average of 110 cities in over 35 states annually. Since its start, tens of millions of people have seen the B-17, B-24 & P-51 display at locations everywhere. The Wings of Freedom tour is one of the most extraordinary and unique interactive traveling historical displays of its kind. The Wings of Freedom tour travels the nation as a flying tribute to the flight crews who flew them, the ground crews who maintained them, the workers who

built them, the soldiers, sailors and airmen they helped protect; and the citizens and families that share the freedom that they helped preserve. The B-17 & B-24 were the backbone of the American effort during the war from 1942 to 1945 and were famous for their ability to sustain damage and still accomplish the mission. Despite the risks of anti-aircraft fire, attacking enemy fighters, and the harrowing environment of sub-zero temperatures,

many B-17s and B-24s safely brought their crews home. The P-51 Mustang was affectionately known as the bombers “Little Friend” – saving countless crews from attacking axis fighters. After the war, many aircraft were scrapped for their raw aluminum to rebuild a nation in post-war prosperity and therefore very few were spared. The rarity of the B-17, B-24 & P-51 - and their importance to telling the story of WWII is why the

Collings Foundation continues to fly and display the aircraft nationwide. At each location local veterans and their families areencouraged to visit and share their experiences and stories with the public. For aviation enthusiasts, the tour provides opportunity for the museum to come to the visitor and not the other way around. Visitors can find out more by visiting our website at www.collings-

foundation.org. The display and tours will move to PhoenixMesa Gateway Airport April 13 to 16 at the west ramp. It will arrive at the airport noon April 13 and depart noon April 16. Ground tours and display hours are noon to 5 p.m. April 13; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 14 and 15; 9 a.m. to noon April 16. The B-17 and its role in WWII

It took 10 men to operate what a Seattle reporter once dubbed a "Flying Fortress.” Ten men who flew and fought as a team; 10 men who often enough died as a team in frigid skies over western Europe during World War II. The Army Air Forces called their mission in Europe "Daylight Strategic Precision Bombing" and their principal tool was the Boeing B-17. Nothing more epitomized America's commitment to the dismantling of Nazi Germany than the Flying Fortress heavy bomber. By war's end American factories had rolled out almost 13,000 of them in a never-ending procession of aerial might. Hitler thought he'd constructed a Fortress Europa against which no invading force's assault could succeed. But he forgot to put a roof on his castle and so almost daily, hundreds of these sleek bombers roared from their bases in England and southern Italy

Photo courtesy Commemorative Air Force Airbase Arizona

Commemorative Air Force Airbase Arizona holds the promise of a memorable opportunity to revisit flight and its contribution to our Nation's heritage. to deliver staggering payloads of bombs on factories, military installations, oil refineries, and transport centers with the goal of impeding Germany's ability to make war. They succeeded, but at a staggering price: 25,000 airmen killed; another 30,000 taken prisoner; thousands wounded, forever scarred. The airfields they flew from are long grassed over.

Skeletal remains of buildings mark the location of the airfields from which they operated. And the surviving population of airmen from that aerial conflict dwindles day by day. Their contributions to the final victory in Europe will forever be inscribed in the history of our nation. They flew the Boeing B17 Flying Fortress heavy bomber into history, a his-

tory which we at the Commemorative Air Force's Airbase Arizona celebrate each and every day through the preservation and flight of authentically restored warbirds like our own B17G, affectionately known as "Sentimental Journey" -- as an honor to the memory of the men who flew this famous bomber in the European, Mediterranean and Pacific Theaters of Operation.

Conveniently located just 20 minutes outside downtown Phoenix, CAF Airbase Arizona is the premiere aviation attraction and destination in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Take a tour of aviation history as you stroll through the aircraft collection of approximately 30 authentically restored warbirds, as well as numerous exhibits celebrating the many groups of men and women

who fought tyranny in the skies around the world to preserve our nation's liberty. Take time for a living history flight experience aboard any one of our flying aircraft, including the B-17 Sentimental Journey, and relive history from the vantage point of the brave young airmen who wrote it. So, no matter what your interest -- be it history, vintage warbirds or a special educational experience -- Airbase Arizona holds the promise of a memorable opportunity to revisit flight and its contribution to our Nation's heritage. Don't miss this memorable experience. CMS: Little things add up in big way By SENIOR AIRMAN JAMES HENSLEY 56TH FIGHTER WING PUBLIC AFFAIRS

For the F-16 Fighting Falcon to fly at Luke Air Force Base, the Viper needs assistance from behind closed doors. This is where the 56th Component Maintenance Squadron comes in. The 56th CMS is composed of several sections including propulsion, precision measurement equipment laboratory, accessories, avionics, hydraulics, electro environmental systems, fuels and egress. The 56th CMS mission is to produce the finest aircraft maintainers while improving aircraft availability. “We more than enable the wing’s mission to be accomplished through the work we do,” said Staff Sgt. Andrea Caldwell, 56th CMS production supervisor. CMS has a critical role in the wing’s mission to train the world’s greatest

Photos by Senior Airman James Hensley

Above, Senior Airman Jonan Torres, 56th CMS aircraft fuels systems journeyman, works on a 370-gallon fuel tank pylon. The pylon connects the fuel tank to the F-16 and has explosive devices built into it to jettison the fuel tank if needed. Left, Airman 1st Class Deven Frank, 56th CMS aircraft engine mechanic, works on cleaning the fan blades of an F-16 engine.

F-16 pilots. For example, Senior Airman Donald Area, 56th CMS PMEL journeyman, works on ensuring the overall integrity of the F-16. “One of the tools we

use is an environmental control test set,” Area said. “It tests the temperature, pressure and overall well-being of the F-16. We also use gage blocks to precision measure objects.”

It’s just one example of the work Airmen at the 56th CMS do to enable the mission. Others are propulsion fuels, avionics and egress. Propulsion handles jet engine repairs and maintenance, fuels manage maintenance and repairs on the F-16’s fuel tanks,

avionics is responsible for key components in the interior of the jet, and egress takes care of everything that deals with the ejection seat. “We don’t all work directly on the flightline, but we take care of the things that need to be done,” said Staff Sgt.

Kerry Flinchbaugh, 56th CMS team leader. “We take care of the things that are due in for maintenance and ensure they’re accomplished in a timely manner. We basically take care of the behind-the-scenes work for the F-16, which allows them to continue flying.”

Shea Homes salutes active and retired military Homebuilder offers exclusive 1-percent credit on new home purchases

Shea Homes Arizona family division is proud to offer an exclusive home purchase credit to active and retired military. This special offer is also extended to teachers, active or retired police officers, and active or retired firefighters. The Shea Homes Heroes Reward Program provides a 1-percent base price credit toward the purchase of a new Shea Home to recognize and thank the efforts of our community’s military, teachers, police officers and firefighters. The redemption process for the Shea Homes Heroes Reward Program is quite simple. Here’s how it works: • Eligible active or retired military, teachers, police officers and firefighters print out a certificate, available at http:// cdn.sheamediaservices. com/MyHD/u_27/A_2/ HeroesCertificate.pdf • Participants fill out the form, and present it to

their Shea Homes community representative, along with proof of current or previous employment. • The 1-percent credit is applied to the base price of a new Shea home. Retired Marine Rich Bauchert recently participated in the Shea Homes Heroes Reward Program when he purchased a new home at the Shea Homes Marbella Vineyards community in Gilbert. Bauchert says the 1-percent credit helped tip the scales in his purchase decision. “It was a fantastic process,” Bauchert said.

Raspberry Rhodolite E XC LU S IVE LY F R O M LE VIAN

“We found the house and closed in 18 days. The Shea folks here at the center and through the whole process were great.” Bauchert said a quick closing process meant he could move his wife, 18and 14-year-old sons and Jack Russell terriers out of a crammed apartment and into their new home before the school year started. “We’re super picky.,” he said. “We love this house. It’s great. We just finished our pool. I can’t say enough about the Shea staff here at Marbella Vineyards.””
