A Me s s age Fr o m O ur P r e s id e n t January has been a busy and productive month at the Chamber; I want to update you on a few of the highlights. Our Ambassador committee has grown almost to capacity and the group has expanded their mission. In addition to serving as the welcoming greeters at events, they also facilitate membership connections and retention by reaching out to both new and existing members. Look for Ambassadors at our events, they have blue badges. They are there to welcome you and help you make connections. We had an outstanding Chamber For Good meeting in January and Chamber Members are truly making a difference in our community by working with local nonprofits. The City of Coral Springs sponsored the January Wake Up Breakfast which has been a long standing tradition. Vice Mayor Dan Daley updated members on the many accomplishments that occurred in Coral Springs this past year. City Manager Erdal Donmez announced his retirement effective May 1, 2017. The Chamber presented Erdal with an award to honor and recognize him for his outstanding service to Coral Springs. He will surely be missed! Mayor Skip Campbell was the guest speaker at the Trustee Luncheon and provided the group with an update regarding the latest developments in Coral Springs. This year's Grand Gala presented by Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital is going to be on March 31st at the Ft. Lauderdale/Coral Springs Marriott. The theme is Denim & Diamonds- and yes, you can wear jeans!! The gala will feature a Food and Wine Showcase, entertainment, and country line dancing. Most importantly, we will be honoring the Small Business Leader of the Year as well as the Covered Bridge Winner. One of the Chamber's priorities for 2017 is to assist small business. We have five new programs designed to educate, advertise and market your business. Please visit our website to view them; we want to help you succeed. Please remember to utilize our Office Depot discount program it will save you $$$! One last thing- we are trying to reduce the number of emails that we send as a courtesy to our members.
