Fellowship Electives October 7, 14, 21, 28 9:20-10:10 a.m. A Survey of Romans–James Moreno (Rooms 109 & 111) This survey of the Apostle Paul’s longest epistle will center on God’s gracious salvation of sinners by faith alone in Christ alone. James will explore the righteousness of God in the justification of the sinner on the basis of the cross work of Jesus Christ.

Managing Your Money–Marvin Maupin (Rooms 106 & 108) All believers are to be good stewards of their wealth! This course centers on this stewardship and the Biblical Principles for Managing your Money. Marvin will focus on the following topics, 1) Four Biblical Principles of Money Management, 2) Avoiding the most common financial mistakes, 3) Guaranteed Financial Success, 4) The Dangers of Debt, 5) Setting Faith Financial Goals, 6) Save, Invest, and Give Wisely, and 7) Development of a Personal Financial Plan

Survival Guide to the OT Historical Books–Jim Foster (Rooms 102 & 104) If you find yourself avoiding the Old Testament historical books (Joshua through Esther), or have gotten “lost” in the book of Judges or 2 Kings, or struggle to understand what's going on to draw helpful application from some of these obscure passages, then this elective is for you. Jim will focus on, 1) the satellite view of the Old Testament by looking at some background information, 2) the surroundings of the Old Testament by working through a timeline of the historical books, 3) the skills and tools for handling the Old Testament by discussing basic principles of interpretation and application as well as some helpful resources, and 4) the practical outworking of the “survival” skills in a controlled group setting.

A survey of Church History–Tony Bryson (Rooms 110 & 112) To study church history is to examine and carefully consider the story of the singular institution established by Christ, (Matthew 16:15-18). More particularly, to study church history is to follow the story of God's people who comprise His church. It is “the story of the greatest community the world has known and the greatest movement in world history” (Everett Ferguson). Tony will seek to remind us of God's faithfulness to His people and the working out of His sovereign plan for the ages (Is. 46:9-10 and I Cor. 15:28). We will survey church history in four sections: The Apostolic Fathers of the Early Church; the Medieval Church; the Reformation and Enlightenment; and the Modern Church.
