Fiber Optics Training - Specifications.

SCOPE OF WORK: The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of Corrections is seeking a contractor to provide a Fiber Optics “Train the Trainer Course”. This 52 hour curriculum is designed to instruct vocational correctional teachers in the areas of fiber optic communications systems. After completing the course, eight vocational teachers will be trained and certified to deliver this program at their home institutions. This training will be broken into two sections. Forty (40) hours will be designated for instruction and twelve (12) hours will be devoted to the practical application of the program by the participants. Training dates are scheduled for the week of June 2 – 6, 2014 and June 9 – 11, 2014. The times are as follows: June 2 – 6, 2014

The training shall be conducted at the Elizabethtown Training Academy located at 1451 N. Market Street, Elizabethtown, PA 17022. Course instructors will be offered housing at the Elizabethtown Training Academy. The course fee will be inclusive of all supplies, materials, and travel expenses necessary to deliver this course at our training facility.

REQUIREMENTS:

The contractor shall provide classroom training to certify 8 instructors to teach a fiber optics course. The contractor shall provide all tools, materials, test equipment and supplies needed for the course as listed below. Students completing the train the trainer course must meet all the requirements necessary to be certified to teach and certify students in field optics. TASKS: The vendor shall also supply equipment to set up 5 fiber optic classrooms, 5 classroom set up kits, 50 TFS Student Kits with Tool Kit and 50 TFS and Department of Corrections approved Classroom Consumable Kits based on 10 students for 5 classrooms per the following specifications: Quantity Description with Vendor *** TFS INSTRUCTOR KIT FOR 8 INSTRUCTORS **** 8 TFS Certified Fiber Optic Installer Instructor Kit (TTT)

TFS Instructor Kit is designed for the CFI Train the Trainer program. This kit will need to be purchased to be able to instruct the Certified Fiber Optic Installer course. This kit includes, training course, presentation, instructor manual, 1 year of course updates/correction, and the exam booklets.
