Film Supervisor - SAE Oxford £16,500 - 17,500 pro rata (depending on qualification & experience) Full time, permanent SAE is part of the Navitas Group, which is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, language training, workforce education and student recruitment. SAE Institute in Oxford is seeking a qualified part-time Film Supervisor to provide support to our growing Film Department and talented students. Essential Criteria:           



Demonstrated high level of communication skills both verbal and written; Possess an appropriate qualification level in film or a related field; Be an intermediate to advanced user of industry-standard camera equipment; Knowledge of and industry experience in film or a related discipline area; Good organisational skills, time management and experience in administrative work; Ability to organise, prioritise and meet deadlines; Proficiency in post-production workflow and software such as Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer and Davinci Resolve; Proficient with using the Internet and email; Demonstrated client service orientation; Ability to work in and foster a harmonious working environment; Willingness to pursue professional development opportunities; Including, Expectation that the supervisor will register for a postgraduate certificate within 12 months of commencement, or equivalent qualification and experience; Must have rights to live and work in the UK.

Desirable Criteria:  Knowledge of Animation and related software such as Autodesk Maya;  Ability to conduct assessment and moderation of technical skills;  Ability to deliver practical demonstrations and tutorials;  Teaching qualifications will be highly regarded. 1.

Primary Objectives of Job:

The Supervisor is provides support that ensures the continued operation of the equipment in SAE Institute labs, suites, and studios. The function requires on-going monitoring of Health and Safety in the workplace, and providing support to the students during practical sessions, in their use of resources and equipment. The Supervisor will ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with the Institute’s policies and procedures.

Ensure effective implementation of SAE Institute policies and procedures;

ii.

Enhance the quality of the educational experience for students through the maintenance of technical equipment in the SAE Institute studios;

iii.

Support and implement the strategic directions of SAE Institute;

iv.

Ensure commitment to professional excellence;

Key Competencies:

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: i.

Maintenance of studios and other practical and resource facilities;

ii.

Responsibility for maintaining and updating equipment and resources databases;

iii.

Report faults with studios and equipment;

iv.

Assist in repairs and installations as required;

v.

Facilitate and record student studio booking, and monitor student attendance of practical sessions;

vi.

Ensure appropriate student behaviour and studio usage during practical sessions;

vii.

Keep records of equipment loans to students;

viii.

Ensure issues in relation to OH&S are assessed and monitored appropriately;

ix.

Deliver practical demonstrations and tutorials;

x.

Assistance and support of students during practical sessions;

xi.

Conduct assessment as directed;

xii.

Assist with course/college enquiries;

xiii.

Answer after-hours telephone enquiries;

xiv.

Attend open days and marketing events as required;

xv.

Keep work station and surrounding areas tidy at all times;

xvi.

Ensure

all

electronic

files

and

documents

are

organised

and

managed

appropriately; xvii.

Monitor campus security during after-hours practical sessions;

xviii.

Be responsible for locking and alarming the campus on completion of after-hours practical sessions;

xix.

Attend all scheduled work times punctually;

Undertake other duties as requested by management.
