VOTE FOR US ON KCRA’S SACRAMENTO A-LIST: BEST OF 2017 If you like your teacher and this school, please vote for us. We are under the “music instruction” category. It says a lot about our school when you vote for us. In 2016 we were #5 out of 57 schools. We’d love to be in the top five again this year. Voting ends July 2nd. NEW MUSIC PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN STARTING AS YOUNG AS TWO YEARS OLD Beginning in July, Natomas School of Music will be adding a new program designed especially for young students. Music FunTime is a wonderful program for students as young as 2 years old. This exciting program has been used successfully throughout the country for many years, and NSM is looking forward to offering the Music FunTime program. NSM teachers are being trained on the Music FunTime curriculum and the supplies have been ordered. JUNE STUDENT OF THE MONTH – ANSUL What instrument do you play? Guitar How long have you been taking lessons at NSM? Since February 2016 Why do you take lessons? Their names are Nemo I, Nemo II, Nemo III, Nemo IV, and Nemo V Do you have any brothers or sisters? One sister Anything else you’d like to add? Yes, I have two guitars. One is acoustic and the other is electric.

SUMMER OPTIONS Summer is right around the corner. If you or your child will have some free time, we encourage you to explore these two options. ! !
Take an additional lesson each week–one hour instead of 30 minutes. Try a new instrument in addition to the current instrument lesson.
If you are interested in either of these options, please talk to anyone in the administration office for details. WE LOVE STUDENT REFERRALS! Starting this month, every time a student or a parent refers someone to NSM and that person signs up for a month of lessons, the student or parent will be entered into a monthly drawing. The winning student AND their referral will each receive a gift card worth $25 to either Target or Walmart. If interested, please talk with anyone in the Administration office. SATURDAY WORKSHOPS Our Saturday workshops are an additional musical activity that NSM offers to our students. Topics vary at each workshop along with the different teachers running each workshop. Workshop information is posted on the monthly calendar that is posted in our Student Information Center outside of the Administrative Office. There is a cost to purchase a reserved place. Workshop attendance can also be used as replacement for a missed paid lesson, at no charge to the student. Please notify the Administration Office if you wish to attend a workshop. Classes are small and fill up fast. SCHEDULE CHANGES Many of our teachers have sold-out schedules on certain days and have limited openings on other days. If you need a schedule change, or would like to be added to the waiting list for a particular teacher, please talk to someone in the Administration Office. STUDENTS: We want to know you better Each month we’d like to print in this newsletter a write-up on individual students: what they like, what instrument(s) they play or if they take voice lessons, what musical goals they have outside of taking lessons, and what other interests they have, etc. If interested, please talk to anyone in the Administrative Office or email your interest to
