Finance Assistant

£20,000 to £24,000, depending on experience SAE Headquarters Oxford Full time, Ongoing Contract SAE is part of the Navitas Group, which is a diversified global education provider that offers an extensive range of educational services for students and professionals including university programs, language training, workforce education and student recruitment. We are looking for a highly professional Finance Assistant to work with the Financial Business Partner for the financial accounting, budgeting, planning and protection for the SAE UK region. The function will support and maintain financial policies and management information systems, working on all aspects of financial management and performance. They will also support other administrative duties for other Proofessional Services, i.e. HR, where required. Essential Criteria: • AAT qualified, part qualified or working towards CIMA/ ACCA, or qualified by experience • Experience in the use of accounting specific software (Oracle, Hyperion) • Advanced Excel skills • Accuracy and attention to detail • Must have right to live and work in UK. 1. Navitas operates across three Divisions, University Programs, Professional and English Programs and SAE.

SAE which was acquired by Navitas Limited in 2011 is the world’s leading

educator in creative media industries. Established in 1976, it now spans the globe with 53 campuses in 27 countries. SAE provides education services to over 10,000 students and employs approximately 1500 staff.

3. Overview and Objectives of the Position The position of Finance Assistant will work with the Finance Business Partner to apply the principles of accounting to provide the financial information necessary for the planning and financial integrity of SAE UK.

5. Key accountabilities: Debtors i.

Generate insightful weekly debtors report for use by SAE UK Student Experience Officers (SEOs) who perform creditor control functions for SAE Campuses

ii.

Closely monitor debt balances and liaise with external debt collection agency as required

iii.

Work with Student Experience Officers to ensure that student payment plans are in place and are being appropriately monitored

System/data integrity and process improvement iv.

Liaise with Shared Services Centre to ensure the correct processing of all SAE UK AR, AP and GL activities

v.

Monitor and evaluate financial information systems and the student database for accuracy of data

vi.

Assist in ensuring the integrity of the UK statutory accounts, ensuring that the financial accounts are accurate and best practice financial accounting processes and controls are operating at all times

vii.

Assist in training new staff on finance processes and procedures - particularly with regard to iProc and iExpenses

viii.

Work with the Finance Business Partner and Campus Managers to drive the continuous improvement of SAE UK’s financial health

Assist in the analysis of financial results for SAE UK

x.

Reconcile student invoicing and recognition of revenue on a monthly basis within the stipulated timeframe for completion of month end accounts

xi.

Review and where necessary process transactions to student accounts (i.e. correction entries, withdrawal/ penalty payment plans, sponsorships, bursaries)

Budget / Forecast Assistance xii.

Assist as directed and where required in the preparation of data for the UK’s Rolling Plan budgets with the Finance Business Partner and Campus Managers

Assist in creating, implementing and monitoring processes and procedures around the creation of latest estimate forecasts

xiv.

Assist in the monthly capex investment requests to ensure within budget and aligned with curriculum development and student recruitment targets;

Reporting xv.

Assist in providing financial advice and information to the Finance Business Partner, Campus Managers and other internal stakeholders as required

Assist the Finance BP in the production of regular and timely reports, financial analysis and modelling, to enable planning, decision-making and control

Regulatory xvii.

Ensure Finance timetable is adhered to including but not limited to:a) Assisting in the production of three year financial forecast for the regulatory

body

Designation process; b) Assisting in the annual data submission to the Financial Conduct Authority xviii.

Take responsibility for ensuring appropriate approvals are in place for purchases

Take ownership of the annual inventory count by liaising with campus managers and process adjustments (disposal and subsequent gain/loss) as necessary

Provide administrative support to other Professional Services, i.e. HR where required.

Be actively involved in and support projects as required, including General Data Protection Regulations at SAE.

7. Selection Criteria: Essential: i.

AAT qualified, Part Qualified (CIMA/ACCA etc) or qualified by experience

ii.

Computer literacy skills inclusive of demonstrated competence with Excel

iii.

Experience in the use of accounting specific software (e.g. Oracle, Hyperion, etc)

iv.

Must have rights to live and work in UK Desirable:
