Introduction to the Role The Financial Accountant position is responsible for the provision of highest quality accounting services to support the Finance function of Navitas Professional and English Programs Division. The key duties of this role are focused around financial transaction processing and assisting with month end reporting. The incumbent of this role is expected to liaise effectively with corporate clients and individual public participants to develop and maintain long standing relationships. In addition to financial accounting, this role will also be required to prepare reports, provide general administration support and assist with auditing. The Financial Accountant role is a full-time, fixed-term contract which will be reviewed after 7 months. Essential  Diploma or equivalent qualification in Accounting  Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role  Strong Microsoft excel and/or financial modelling experience  Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritise competing tasks for completion on time  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills  Positive and enthusiastic attitude  Hands-on approach and problem solver  High level commitment to quality of work and meeting deadlines  Well-developed administration skills Desirable  Degree qualification in Accounting or similar  Previous experience using Oracle  Prior experience in an Educational environment What we offer An attractive remuneration package will be negotiated with the successful candidate. Key Result Areas (Areas of Accountability and Responsibility):

Contributes to the highest standard of accounting and student financial services by:

        

Attending to end-of-month processes including proper revenue and expense recognition, overhead allocations and accruals; Preparing all month-end balance sheet reconciliations by the due date and ensuring that reconciling items are promptly resolved and cleared; Maintaining the fixed assets register for the Company and assisting with the annual periodic inventory verification by custodians; Preparation of BAS and IAS returns in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring lodgement and payment by the due dates; Assisting with preparation of monthly financial and management reporting package including variance analysis and drafting commentary; Assisting with the collation of data for the weekly dashboard; Assisting with collation of data for key financial and non-financial business performance indicators; Complying with PEP Division Finance Policies and Procedures; Assisting with ad hoc projects and the general needs of the finance function as required from time-to-time.

Selection Criteria (Qualifications, Skills and Experience)
