Tell Us Your Story We would like to hear the stories of God at work in His people. We’ve set up a page on our website, fbclaf.org, where you can submit your story of how God is working (or has worked previously) in your life. We might even want to share some of these stories in print or by some other means. If so, we promise to get back with you by email or phone to be sure it’s okay. We look forward to hearing from you.

May 27, 2012 Welcome to First Baptist Church! If you are our guest, please take a moment to complete the guest registration attachment that you will find in your bulletin. After completing, you may tear off the attachment and place it in the offering plate or bring it by the Information Center. Today, I’m preaching on the very sensitive issue of the sanctity of marriage. As I preach, I am thinking about the Biblical instruction found in Ephesians 4:15 to “speak the truth in love.” As I seek to preach in this spirit this morning, I want to ask you to be particularly sensitive to the many families around us who deal with this every day. Pray for them. Pray for the grace and truth of God to be evident in our services this morning. We are now only one week away from the beginning of Vacation Bible School. We owe a big “thank you” to everyone who has already volunteered. We need everyone to now be fully engaged not only in praying, but also involved in inviting children. Don’t forget about our evening plans for youth called “Spirit Week.” All church members can do us a big favor by registering your children in advance. This weekend, as Americans, we remember those who have died in war so that we might enjoy the freedoms and livelihood that we experience here in these United States. Pray with me that these sacrifices be not in vain and pray with me for the thousands of men and women who serve us now “in harm’s way.”

Sermon Notes

What does God say about marriage? Thoughtful Plan: Helpful Partnership: Timeless Principle: What does God say about homosexuality? He would speak with ___________________________________, but He would speak the ____________________________. (See Ephesians 4:15) What does God say about same sex marriage? I find no answer but this: He categorically opposes it. The Church must stand with our Maker on this issue. Too much is at stake. Why should we oppose same sex marriage? Here are three reasons:

What can we do?
