• Invocation

Prayers of the People

God of hope, you call us home from the exile of selfish oppression to the freedom of justice, the balm of healing, and the joy of sharing. Make us strong to join you in your holy work, as friends of strangers and victims, companions of those whom others shun, and as the happiness of those whose hearts are broken. We make our prayer through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Advent Wreath Lighting: Philippians 4:4-7

TO DISPERSE IN MISSION

Prayer for Illumination Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your word proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen.

TO OFFER OUR PRAISE & PRAYERS

Let us pray.

Behold! A Virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Emmanuel: God with us. O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion, get thee up into the high mountain; O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up they voice with strength; be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, behold your God! Arise, shine, for thy light is come and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Isaiah 40:9)

Worship with Tithes and Offerings Offertory: Freu dich sehr, o meine Seele (Rejoice greatly, o my soul) BWV Anh. 52 . . Johann Sebastian Bach Surely, it is God who saves me; I will trust in him and not be afraid. For the Lord is my stronghold and my sure defense, and he will be my Savior. Therefore you shall draw water with rejoicing from the springs of salvation. And on that day you shall say, give thanks to the Lord, and call upon his Name. Make his deeds known among the peoples; see that they remember that his Name is exalted. Sing the praises of the Lord, for he has done great things, and this is known in all the world. Cry aloud, inhabitants of Zion, ring out your joy, for the great one in the midst of you is the Holy One of Israel. (Isaiah 12:2-6) 2
