Following the launch of our new website, we have an exciting opportunity to be part of the continued growth of Waterstones.com, as we build on the new platform to deliver a better experience for our customers.

We are seeking a PHP developer capable of working independently within an existing eCommerce team. You will be involved in the continued support and development of Waterstones.com. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience working on a variety of software development projects for medium to large companies or agencies, and will be available for an immediate start. This role is based at our Head Office in Piccadilly, London. . Skills and Experience:  Good experience of working with Object Oriented PHP (5.3.x) to deliver enterprise level web projects 

Experience of PHP MVC frameworks, Zend Framework in particular



Experience in Python would be desirable but not essential



Hands-on experience of web-based technologies Javascript, CSS, HTML, XML, JSON, JQuery



Basic Linux Sys-Admin experience (CentOS / RedHat )



Design and development of DB schemas (MySQL)



Ideally degree educated in a technical discipline



Excellent communication skills, pragmatic team player



Flexible and adaptable in approach

Autonomous and great problem solver with excellent attention to detail, you will be a pragmatic team player able to communicate with key stakeholders across the business and external partners to coordinate and respond to support issues and plan developments. This role requires a flexible and adaptable approach and a real can do attitude.
