Then, In Our Community Luke 10:1-24 1. Learn to love. After this, the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them two by two ahead of Him to every town and place where He was about to go. Luke 10:1 ● Love is a skill. ● You can get better at loving. ● Loving people requires boundaries. ● Love is dependent on Christ. This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down His life for us… Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:16-18 2. Meet physical and spiritual needs. Heal the sick who are there and tell them, “The kingdom of God has come near to you.” Luke 10:9 ● Both are important. ● We must learn to engage in spiritual conversations. ● With sharing our faith or having spiritual conversations, we overcomplicate it. 3. Live on mission. Whoever listens to you listens to Me; whoever rejects you rejects Me; but whoever rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me. Luke 10:16 ● Jesus was teaching His disciples, and today we are His disciples. ● They didn’t go alone. Missions and ministry happen in the community. ● The 3-fold mission: Pray, I nvest, and Invite. 4. There is joy in the journey. The seventy-two returned with joy and said, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in Your name.” L uke 10:17 ● When you are living in the center of God’s will, there will be joy in the journey. ● The Christian life is anything but boring. ● It is when we are doing what Jesus calls us to that we see the miracles! 5. Live with confidence. However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven. Luke 10:20 ● We don’t serve God to earn our salvation, but because we are saved. ● If you are in Christ, your name is in the Book of Life. God has saved you! ● It is only God who can change a heart. There is such freedom in this! ● Our call is simply to be obedient to Jesus and to: Love. Everyone. Always.

Rolling Hills Community Church - Franklin Campus - Jeff Simmons Love. Everyone. Always. | March 17, 2019 Taking It Home Jesus invites us on an incredible journey. As His disciple, Jesus calls us to be His ambassadors in our own community. He teaches us to love, and then He sends us out to meet physical and spiritual needs. Many times, it is easier to meet the physical needs, so we never engage in spiritual conversations. But, both are essential. We must love people enough to share the Good News of Christ. The result of investing in others is joy. When we truly commit to live our lives on mission, Jesus begins to work through us for His glory. This is when we see miracles, and this is when the Christian life truly comes alive. Therefore, let’s commit to: Love. Everyone. Always.
