Trump’s new campaign manager: 5 things to know Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump shook up his campaign Wednesday, appointing a new campaign manager to his team, GOP pollster Kellyanne Conway. The Trump campaign announced that Conway will be serving as the senior advisor to campaign chair, Paul Manafort. So, who is Conway, how will she affect Trump’s campaign… and what does her promotion mean for voters? — 1. She is a self-made, successful business woman In 1995, Conway founded The Polling Company, Inc. / Woman Trend, described as a “privately-held, woman-owned corporation,” on the website. Her work for the polling company has allowed her to advance her position to “one of the most quoted and noted pollsters on the national scene, having provided commentary on over 1,500 television shows.” The company correctly predicted the outcomes of major races in 2012, a year when few GOP pollsters were accurate in their estimates. All of the general election candidates they predicted in 2014 came out on top, showing her percentage of accuracy is incredibly high. — 2. She’ll appeal to female voters Conway has spent much of her career studying the trends of women in politics and is an expert when it comes to the gender gap. It’s clear the Trump campaign is hoping to appeal more to female voters with the help of Conway, announcing that she is “widely regarded as an expert on female consumers and voters.” One division of the company she founded is WomanTrend, which tracks the “social, cultural, financial, professional and health trends influencing – and being influenced by – women,” as described on their website. Conway’s work with WomanTrend allows her to understand the modern-day woman and will greatly influence the way she aids Trump in appealing to these voters. — 3. She is a proven conservative Prior to working with Trump, Conway was a strategist with the pro-Ted Cruz super PAC “Keep the Promise I”, and helped to run attack ads against Donald Trump. Cruz isn’t the only big name conservative Conway has worked for. Conway has worked for Trump’s running mate Gov. Mike Pence, Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, President Reagan’s pollster Richard Wirthlin, and multiple Congressmen and women. — 4. Her husband has taken on Bill Clinton Conway’s husband, George T. Conway III, is a lawyer with Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen and Katz, and has fought for conservative principles in court for years. Most notably, George Conway worked for Paula Jones in her sexual assault allegations against Bill Clinton. He also did pro bono work to represent crime victims and public-interest groups in “opposing claims that federal law requires the State of New York to allow felons to vote while still incarcerated,” his New York law firm’s website says. — 5. She’s a proud mother of four During her successful career in politics, Conway has also managed to find time to be a successful mom and raised four children, ages six, seven, and two eleven-year-olds. When asked what her priorities are she said, “Family. Faith. Constant motion.”

Southwestern Cobb Salad Ingredients Vinaigrette: 3 tablespoons white wine vinegar 1 teaspoon honey 3/4 teaspoon ground cumin 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper 2 tablespoons canola oil Salad: 3 slices center-cut bacon Cooking spray 8 ounces skinless, boneless turkey breast, cut into 1/2-inch pieces 1/4 teaspoon salt 8 cups torn romaine lettuce 1/2 cup refrigerated fresh Pico de Gallo 1/2 cup diced avocado 1/2 cup (2 ounces) crumbled queso fresco 1/4 cup chopped green onions 1 (15-ounce) can low-sodium black beans, rinsed and drained Preparation 1. To prepare vinaigrette, combine first 6 ingredients in a medium bowl, stirring with a whisk. Gradually add oil, stirring constantly with a whisk; set aside. 2. To prepare salad, cook bacon in a nonstick skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon from pan; crumble. Wipe pan clean with paper towels. Increase heat to medium-high. Coat pan with cooking spray. Sprinkle turkey with salt. Add turkey to pan; sauté 4 minutes or until done. 3. Arrange 2 cups lettuce on each of 4 plates. Top each serving with about 2 teaspoons bacon, 5 tablespoons turkey, 2 tablespoons Pico de Gallo, 2 tablespoons avocado, 2 tablespoons queso fresco, 1 tablespoon onions, and about 1/3 cup beans. Drizzle vinaigrette evenly over salads.

“Take nothing on its looks. Take everything on evidence. There’s no better rule!” wrote Charles Dickens in Great Expectations. Years later, a fictional detective, Sgt. Joe Friday became famous for the phrase, “Just the facts, Ma’am. All I want are the facts.” If there were no facts there could be no reliable evidence. “Shout for joy to God, all the earth...Say to God, ‘How awesome are Your deeds! So great is Your power...All the earth bows down to You,’” wrote David. Everywhere David looked, he saw God’s “awesome deeds.” And these “deeds” provided all the “evidence” he, and those who met with him in worship, needed to have to believe in the God of Israel. These “awesome deeds” can be seen in His-story: God judging and punishing those who were disobedient to Him; those who broke His laws and disregarded and disobeyed His commandments. They paid the price. Hisstory also includes examples of His countless blessings and unending love, mercy and grace that He graciously blest those who trusted Him. He protected them and provided for their every need as long as they were obedient to His Word and His ways. And He still does. The Bible contains all of the evidence that is needed for us to see the “awesome deeds” of God. In His-story He gives us “evidence” and “facts” that are undeniable.
