NEWS CAPSULE – FAQ

Q: What is a News Capsule? A: A News Capsule is an interactive digital platform that houses videos, images, press releases, documents, and links to social media networks, websites and transactions in one highly sharable unit.

Q: How long does News Capsules remain active? A: News Capsules remain live for at least one year with updates and reporting available within the first 90 days.

Q: Do you have an example of a News Capsule within a Business Wire news release? A: You can view a News Capsule in a news release here. Q: Will Business Wire media outlets accept a News Capsule? A: All media outlets have the option to do so. It’s up to each outlet to determine what can get embedded in their platform. The News Capsule is the only interactive unit that is embeddable in a distributed press release. See example

Q: How do I embed my Capsule? A: At the bottom of the News Capsule is an “Embed” button. Using that embed code, you can embed your News Capsule directly into a website or blog with its full interactivity. Here is short video that shows you how.

Q: Do you have an example of a News Capsule embedded on another website? A: You can view a News Capsule embedded on a website here. Q: Can I email my News Capsule? A: Yes. You can simply click on the “Email” button at the bottom of the News Capsule.

Q: How long does it take to create a News Capsule? A: A News Capsule can be developed within 48 business hours, (M-F 9am-7pm ET) Q: Are there News Capsule templates provided to choose from? A: Yes, there are 4 templates from which to choose, which can be found in the News Capsule Playbook.

Q: What file sizes do I need? A: Videos: .MP4 or .MOV file format, 1280x720 (high-res) Logos:  up to 200x67px Images: minimum resolution of 72dpi

Q: Is the cost of the press release distribution included in the cost of the News Capsule? A: No, you can choose any distribution option & the cost the will be standard Business Wire rates. Contact your BW representative for 2015 rates.

Q: Does a press release count as one of the assets in my News Capsule? A: No. The press release will appear in the press release tab of the News Capsule and does not account as one of the assets.

Q: What if we want more than 8 assets in our News Capsule? A: Additional assets can be added at a cost of $225 each and can be placed in the other tabs of the News Capsule. (meaning, they could go in the Videos tab, Images tab, etc.)

Q: When are the reports available? A: The reports are available approximately two hours after the release is made live. Some of the third-party data comes from the service on a delay of 2–24 hours (depending on the service).

Q: Where do we find our News Capsule reports? A: Log into your Business Wire account via http://secure.businesswire.com, go to Reports, then Order History, then select the NewsTrak report for the release/capsule you want to see.

Q: Are there guaranteed views of a News Capsule? A: For an additional charge a News Capsule can have a guaranteed audience. Q: How are News Capsules updated? A: You can contact your Business Wire representative to arrange updates. Q: What if I want to make updates after 90 days? A: To make further updates to the capsule after 90 days, the cost to do so is $275/hour (1 hour minimum).

Q: What’s the difference between a Multimedia News Release (MNR) and News Capsule? A: The News Capsule does everything that the MNR does but goes far beyond the MNR by turning your news release into a content marketing tool that can be embedded, monitored, measured and updated across all digital channels.

Q: How does the pricing compare to an MNR? A: The News Capsule is currently priced comparable to the MNR. Q: What if I don’t have assets to populate my News Capsule?
