Frequently Asked Questions What is Home Improvement Weekend? Home Improvement Weekend is an action-packed, dynamic weekend that allows each of the age groups of the family to discuss issues directly related to each generation. Over a Saturday night(2/4/17) and Sunday morning(2/5/17), the following events will take place: Couples Night Out, Student Glow in the Dark Ultimate Frisbee Challenge, Honoring Grandparents Breakfast and Worship Service, Parenting Conference and Family Worship Service. We have a team of people eager to serve you. We have been praying intensely for you and your family. We can’t wait to meet each one of you. Who will lead the weekend? Jeff & Debby McElroy. Jeff and Debby have been involved in ministry to families since 1989. Through the years they have become one of the most sought after marriage and family conference speakers across the country. They have a unique style of presenting real tools, for real problems, in a real funny way. “We have to be creative,” says Debby. “We have to present our material in such a way that every person in the family gets it. That means we’ve got to use music, video, high-energy teaching, comedy and thought provoking 3-minute dramas. How long does it last? Saturday night, February 4, 5:30-8:30pm 5:30pm Check-in @ Gym, Childcare Check-in @ Room 112 6:00pm Couple’s Night Out – Gym 6:00pm Student: The Light Bowl: Glow in the Dark Ultimate Frisbee Challenge @ Cub Stadium – Pizza Feast Sunday morning, February 5, 7:30am-12:00pm 7:30am Grandparent’s Breakfast @ Gym (if your children are grown, come eat with us) 8:30am The Legacy of Grandparents – Worship Service 9:45am Parenting Conference @ Gym (parents of preschoolers, children & teens) 11:00am Family Worship Service

What will my children be doing during the weekend? Having a blast! We have teams of childcare workers eager to engage children from infants-12 yrs. of age in age-appropriate activities. Games, playground, snacks and a meal on Saturday night during Couple’s Night Out. Register by 1/22 at no cost. After 1/22, $10 per child with a $30 maximum Will my kids be fed? Will I be fed? Yes and yes. On Saturday night at Couple’s Night Out we will serve a catered meal from Mikeska’s Catering. Children will have a catered meal as well. Students will eat pizza at Cub Stadium. Sunday morning, we will serve a breakfast to Grandparents(7:30am) and Parents(9:45am) in the gym. If your child has certain food allergies, let us know. What is the cost and how do I register? There is no cost, it is FREE! We will have a donation basket available at each event, if you would like to contribute. Childcare is FREE too IF you register your children by 1/22. After 1/22, $10 per child with a $30 maximum. You can register several ways: 1. Call the church office and give us your information. 2. Email [email protected] and we can get your information. 3. Come by the church office and get a registration card. Cards are also at the Guest Center and Information Tables, as well as, in Sunday School attendance boxes. 4. Register after a worship service in January at the Information Table by the Choir Room. Someone will be there to help you. 5. Go online at www.fbc-brenham.org. There will be a rotating banner to click on that will take you to a registration button. Can I bring a guest? Do fish swim? YOU BET! Home Improvement Weekend is for anyone and everyone. You do not have to be a member of BFBC to participate. All we ask is that we get people registered early to help us in planning. Can I volunteer? Definitely!! In fact, we will not be able to conduct the weekend without volunteers. We will need volunteers in the following areas: childcare, food preparation, greeters, prayer, set-up, clean-up and Sunday School substitutes (to fill in for workers who will attend the Parenting Conference).
