FROM OUR MINISTER OF STUDENTS... We are back from Colorado! Thank you for your prayers while we were away. It was a wonderful week. Camps and retreats that we attend as a youth ministry give students important “mountaintop experiences” (in this case….literally on a mountain) that encourage them to grow in their intimacy with Christ. It has been an exciting time working with the students in our church. I can’t tell you the number of times that church members have come to me complimenting how well our students worked during events like Walk with Jesus and VBS. I appreciate the words of affirmation and encouragement that you have spoken about them. We do have a special group of students at First Plano who are willing to serve in various ways, and they do it while bringing glory to God. As wonderful as our youth ministry is (and yes, I might be a bit biased), it is our church as a whole that deserves encouragement and affirmation for the success of the youth ministry. First Plano is a church that embraces and supports student ministry. As we minister to each other and our community, it is your willingness to serve alongside our students that encourages them to put their faith into action. It is your willingness to teach them in Bible study that helps them understand and hold on to biblical truths. It is your willingness to give financially so that our students can attend retreats and camps and gain those all important “mountaintop experiences” as they mature in their faith. For all of you who, over the last couple of years, have said to me, “Thank You for working with our youth,” I would like to tell you the same. Thank YOU! Jeff Howard Minister of Students
