Here are our best practices and tips to reach your fundraising goal! Remember your individual fundraising goal is $50 and the team fundraising goal is $200 for a team of four. Don’t stop at your goal! Keep fundraising because the more funds you raise, the more incentive prizes you will get!

FUNDRAISING TIPS • Remember the cause. Big Brothers Big Sisters matches children facing adversity with caring adult mentors. Kids who have Bigs are more likely to avoid risky behaviors and have higer self esteem than their peers. Tell potential donors about the cause behind the event and they will be more willing to donate. • Use Facebook, Twitter and E-Mail. Make sure to utilize social media and email. It’s really easy to post your webpage URL directly in your posts. The average online gift is $45! Thank your donors publically on social media to generate buzz and make sure to include your link. • Ask about company matches. Many companies will match an employee’s contributions to a charity. Ask your HR Director or Office Manager if your company participates in a Company Match program. If so, your donation will go even farther. Usually it;s a simple form that you fill out and send to BBBS! • Tell your personal story. Tell your donors why you support BBBS. Let them know about the amazing outcomes and personal experiences you have had with Big Brothers Big Sisters or your own personal mentor. • Plan an unique fundraiser. Host a fundraiser with family or friends at their work place. Some examples include: trivia nights, garage sales, backyard BBQ parties where guests bring donations instead of a side dish, and even social media based challenges! Be creative and use your contacts to raise as much money as you can! • Try asking face to face. Bowlers have a lot of luck by simply walking around their office or neighborhood and asking their contacts to support them with a donation. • Ask for help. We are here to support your team!
