Gary Church in Mission Fifth Sunday Appeal: Today we join with other churches in northern IL to collect a special offering for affiliate agencies of United Voices for Children that serve children, youth, and families in need. Prescription for Life bottles are still being collected. If you haven’t picked up one, you can still help support the Older Adults Program at Outreach Community Center by dropping off a donation at the Church Office. Apr. is Gary’s month at ESSE (adult day care). Each Apr., Gary Church provides visits and treats to the Wheaton site located at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Sign up in the Commons or contact Deb Connor through the Church Office. Conversation with Dr. Christopher Hayes: Wed., Apr. 3, 6:30 p.m. in Commons E. Christopher, a missionary to Colombia whom Gary Church supports, will speak about the church’s role in the current refugee crisis in Columbia. Bake & Craft Sale for Fundaniños: Sun., May 5, 9 a.m.–12 p.m. in the Commons. Not only can you get yummy treats and great Mother’s Day gifts, but your purchases will also support Fundaniños Orphanage in Guatemala. CROP Walk: Sun., May 5. Gary will join other churches to raise funds and awareness for the continued fight against hunger locally and around the world. Register to walk or make a donation at crophungerwalk.org/glenellynil/garyumc2019. The 3+ mile walk begins and ends at Grace Lutheran Church, Glen Ellyn.

Please Note Table Talks: today, 8:30–9 a.m. in the Commons. Leaders of our Informational Sessions on the 2019 Special Session of the UMC General Conference will be available to address your questions. Communion during Lent: We will celebrate Holy Communion at the 11 a.m. service each Sunday during Lent and Palm Sunday. Easter Egg Hunt Donations Needed: Plastic eggs and candy are needed for this event on Apr. 21. Bring donations to the Church Office by Apr. 17. Ways to Serve: Positions are available for ushers at the 9 and 11 a.m. worship services and for a bus driver once a month to pick up those not able to drive to church. Contact the Church Office.

Children’s and Youth Ministries Word & Table: Today, 6:30–8 p.m. at the Austin’s home. High schoolers will gather to share a meal and enjoy time together. Playgroup: Wed., Apr. 3, 4–5 p.m. in the Activity Center. Come play with us! This is a great way to socialize with other parents while your little ones play.  Gary Youth Midweek: Wednesdays, 7–8:30 p.m. in the Activity Center. Middle school students, join us to meet new friends and get plugged into Gary Youth ministries. Serve Sunday: Sun., Apr. 7, 3–4 p.m. Middle and high school students are invited to play Bingo with the residents of Brighton Gardens Assisted Living in Wheaton. SuperStart: Fri.–Sat., Apr. 12–13 for fourth and fifth graders. Participation details and registration are at www.garychurch.org. Cost: $85. CIY Summer Camps: We are thrilled to have camp options for both middle and high schoolers this summer! High School: MOVE Camp, Mon.–Fri., Jun. 24–29 in Holland, MI. Tony Venezia, Gary member and Professor at College of DuPage, will share three short films he created. Camerata Chicago Chamber Orchestra: Sat., Apr. 6, 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Wheaton. Tickets: $50 adults, $40 seniors, $10 students. Use code GUMC for a 30% discount. Students 16 and under are free with a paying adult. College Lunch: Sun., Apr. 7, 12:30 p.m. in the Anderson Room.
