Native American Ministries Sunday: Your gift on this United Methodist Special Sunday educates Native American seminarians and empowers Native American outreach. Apr. is Gary’s month at ESSE (adult day care). During this month Gary provides visits and treats to the Wheaton site located within St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Sign up in the Commons or contact Deb Connor through the Church Office. 2018 Habitat for Humanity Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project: Registration fills quickly for this event to be held in Mishawaka, IN on Aug. 26–30, so don’t delay in getting in your application. Contact Gerry Schmidt through the Church Office for details. Guatemala Bake Sale: May 6 from 8:30 a.m.–12 p.m. in the Commons. Gary bakers, please share your baking skills to raise funds for the salary of a teacher at Fundaninos Orphanage. Bring your baked goods before the 9 a.m. service on May 6.

Children’s and Youth Ministries Gary Youth Serve Sunday: today, 3–4 p.m. Join us at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living for our monthly Bingo with the seniors there. Gary Youth Midweek: Apr. 11 from 7–8:30 p.m. in the Activity Center. Middle and high school students, join us to meet new friends and get plugged into Gary Youth ministries. Parent’s Night Out: Apr. 20 from 6:30–8:30 p.m. in the Lower Level. Parent’s Night Out is open to children ages 6 months–grade 3. Reservations are required through Gary’s Church Office and a donation of $5 per child is suggested. Gary Youth Summer Mission Trip to Nashville: June 25–30. Students completing eighth grade through those completing high school are encouraged to come. Cost: $350. $50 sibling discount for additional registrations. Register at garychurch.org by April 29. Registration is now open for Vacation Bible School and BLAST Camp, Jun. 18–22 at Gary Church. Shipwrecked VBS is for children entering Preschool 4’s–grade 4. Holiday BLAST Camp is for students entering grades 5–8. Register through our website. Volunteers are needed and can also register through our website.

Opportunities at Gary Church Men’s Bible Study: Tuesdays from 7–8:30 p.m. in Commons E. We’re starting a new study on Apr. 10: Philippians—Paul’s letter of joy to the Philippians emphasizing the blessings of Christian life! Come enjoy great fellowship and learning with this weekly group. Weekly Grief Matters: Wednesdays in Commons A at 10 a.m. We welcome anyone grieving the death of someone close to be part of this group. RSVP to the Church Office.  Gary/Winfield Lunch Group will meet on Apr. 12 at 12 p.m. in Gary’s Commons. Egg casserole will be provided. Bring a brunch type dish to share. Cost: $2 per person. Faith Club: A Women’s Interfaith Book Discussion Group meets April 12 from 6:30 p.m. in the Anderson Room. Join women of Gary and other faiths to discuss Part III of Sacred Ground by Eboo Patel. RSVP to Cathy Mousseau through the Church Office if you would like to attend. DuPage Symphony Orchestra presents The Charm of Chamber Music, Apr. 15 at 3 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Tickets are available at dupagesymphony.org or at the door. Gary Kids’ Church & Sunday School Leader Appreciation Breakfast: Apr. 22 at 10 a.m. in Gamon Hall. All Kids’ Church and Sunday School leaders are invited to a special breakfast honoring their gifts of service. The Lunchtime Literary Group will meet Apr. 24 at 12 p.m. to discuss Miller’s Valley by Anna Quindlen. Pack a lunch and join us in Commons A.

Burning Bush Art Gallery—An Outreach of Gary Church Acorn Coffeehouse presents Michael Miles and Lloyd Brodnax King on Apr. 13 at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m. Cost: $10. Michael is world-renowned clawhammer banjo player. Lloyd is a virtuoso flute soloist and award-winning composer. Now Showing: There’s Room through Apr. 29.
