Gary Kids Facebook Group: So much ministry is happening—live devotionals at noon on Wednesdays, joys and concerns on Fridays, and lots of activities and shared photos. Look for the page under “Groups” on our Facebook page. Gary Cares Teams: We are continuing to make calls to our church family. If you would like to make calls, or if you are in need of help, complete the Gary Cares form. Recognizing Our Graduates: With the absence of traditional ceremonies this year, we are especially eager to recognize those in the Gary/Winfield Church family who are graduating from high school, college, or vocational school. Contact the Church Office with the graduate’s name, school of graduation, intended college/degree, or other details by Mon., May 11. We will list all graduates in the June/July Chimes and recognize high school grads during worship at a later date. 2020 UM General Church Meetings Postponed: The General Conference of the UM Church, has been tentatively rescheduled for Aug. 31–Sept. 10, 2021 in Minneapolis, MN. Debate of the proposals regarding the future of the UM Church will be delayed until this meeting. The NIC Annual Conference and the North Central Jurisdictional Conference have also been postponed. New dates have not yet been announced. Additional information is available at nicumc.org and umnews.org.

Stay Connected to the Mission Local Ministry Partners: • “Separate but Together” CROP Hunger Walk TODAY! Walk anywhere and any distance, but let’s all walk at the same time to raise funds to fight hunger locally and around the world. We’ll kick off at 1 p.m. with a live prayer on our Facebook page. Register to walk and donate at the CROP Walk website. Let’s all come “together” to be the church and help stop hunger! • Community Garden: Help provide fresh produce to local food banks through our garden located at Winfield Community UMC. Garden activities consist of watering, weeding, grass mowing, pruning, harvesting, and delivery to food banks. All activities can be done on your own time using “social distancing” principles. Schedule the day(s) and times of your choice for any task you choose throughout the summer. Contact Fred Wayland through the Church Office. • People’s Resource Center: Homemade cloth face masks are needed for food pantry volunteers and guests. If you are able to provide masks, contact Amy Zurita at [email protected]. Monetary donations which allow PRC to continue providing their food pick up service can be made at peoplesrc.org. Your tithes and offerings: It is crucial that we continue our mission and ministry, and now more than ever, we need your help. Here are three ways to continue your tithes and offerings. • Online: Make a regular or one-time gift at www.garychurch.org/giving. • Text-to-Give: Text 844-928-1220 on a cell phone.
