Enzyme-Hydrolyzed Soya Bean Protein A low cost, technical grade of a water-soluble, enzyme-hydrolyzed soya bean protein is available as a powder that contains 8.5% total nitrogen of which 20% is amino nitrogen. Metal butoxy hydrides are now available which will reduce acid chlorides to aldehydes. Also useful for reductions of sterospecific ster oid ketones to hydroxy derivatives. Organosol Coatings
Specialty Polyester Resin
A new series of organosol coat ings, Sterilkote 360, gives outstand ing metal adhesion and requires no priming. lests indicate the onecoat organosols are much more abrasion-resistant than two-coat ap plications which do require prim ing. Sterilkotes are vinyl resins and may be applied by manual, auto matic, or electrostatic spray equip ment as well as by regular and reverse-roll coaters. New organo sols are highly protective and deco rative, and are available in a wide color spectrum which can be ap plied in a form applicable to very smooth or textured finishes. Dept. Now available commercially is a new specialty polyester resin, tradenamed Formiez No. 112-R, for the production of solid-cast polyurethane elastomers. Urethanes made from the new resin—a diethylene glycol adipate type—exhibit lowdurometer hardness characteristics and are well suited for such uses as printing rollers and potting and encapsulating compounds. Formrez No. 112-R has a hydroxyl num ber of 61, an acid number of 1.9, 0.03% water content, and a viscosity of 15,00 cp. at 25° C.
