CHS2200 SOE OPC Interface Package

GENERAL
This package implements an OPC (OLE for Process Control) server on the human interface station (HIS) of the CENTUM VP/CENTUM CS 3000, on a safety engineering PC (SENG) or PC. In addition, through an OPC interface, the package can provide OPC clients with event and diagnostic information that has been gathered using the sequence-of-events recorder (SOER) function of the Safety Control Stations (SCS) .
FUNCTION SPECIFICATIONS
The SOE OPC interface package provides the following OPC interface specifications: Alarms & Events (A&E) Server An A&E server notifies an OPC client of asynchronously generated SCS events as A&E information. This server periodically reads the SCS events and, if there is any change in the events (e.g., if a new event is generated), informs the OPC client of the differences. The supported events are: • Diagnostic information • Sequence of events (SOE)

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION Server/Client Configuration OPC clients of the SOE OPC interface package can be implemented in the following two situations: • The OPC client coexists with the SOE OPC interface package on the same PC. • The OPC client exists on a different PC. Multi-client Configuration Several OPC clients can access a single OPC server (SOE OPC interface). Multi-server Configuration A single OPC client can access several OPC servers (SOE OPC interfaces). RANGE OF SUPPORTED OPC SPECIFICATIONS
The SOE OPC interface package provides the following interface specifications for OPC clients: A&E Server OPC Alarms and Events Custom Interface Specification Version 1.1
SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Hardware Requirements: The interface package must comply with the system requirements for the LHS1100 Standard Operation and Monitoring Function of the CENTUM VP/CS 3000. OPC Client is worked on the IBM PC/AT-compatible personal computer. Software Requirements: Refer to the GS “ProSafe-RS Safety Instrumented System Overview (GS 32Q01B10-31E, GS 32Q01B20-31E).” Restrictions: • Do not use the SOE OPC interface package along with the OPC server for the NTPF100 Exaopc OPC interface package. • The SOE OPC interface package can be used with the OPC server for the LHS2411 Exaopc OPC interface package (HIS-installed version).
