“Generosity” Key Passage: Matthew 6:33(CEV) But more than anything else, put God’s work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.
How would you define someone who is generous? __________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________ __________________________________________________________ The Why Behind Being Generous: Generosity _____________________________________________ The group of followers all felt the same way about everything. None of them claimed that their possessions were their own, and they shared everything they had with each other. In a powerful way the apostles told everyone that the Lord Jesus was now alive. God greatly blessed his followers. Acts 4:32-33 Instruct them to do as many good deeds as they can and to help everyone. Remind the rich to be generous and share what they have. 1st Timothy 6:18 Generosity _____________________________________________ Then he said to the crowd, “Don’t be greedy! Owning a lot of things won’t make your life safe.” Luke 12:15 Generosity _____________________________________________ Remember this saying, “A few seeds make a small harvest, but a lot of seeds make a big harvest. 2nd Corinthians 9:6 Generosity _____________________________________________ Don’t store up treasures on earth! Moths and rust can destroy them, and thieves can break in and steal them. Instead, store up your treasures in heaven, where moths and rust cannot destroy them, and thieves cannot break in and steal them. Your heart will always be where your treasure is. Matthew 6:19-21
Generosity _____________________________________________ You should be happy to give the poor what they need, because then the Lord will make you successful in everything you do. Deuteronomy 15:10
Generosity _____________________________________________ If we say we are his, we must follow the example of Christ. 1st John 2:6 You must follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. 1st Corinthians 11:1 God is the one who began this good work in you, and I am certain that he won’t stop before it is complete on the day that Christ Jesus returns. Philippians 1:6
