To: All Vydyne® customers Subject: REACh Substances of Very High Concern Vydyne products do not contain SVHC substances. Compliance Declaration – Ascend Performance Materials is dedicated to ensuring that its products are compliant to worldwide regulatory systems. Ascend’s Vydyne resins are fully compliant with the SVHC restrictions of the European Union’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals (REACh) law. The substances listed below are not contained as ingredients in any Vydyne product, nor are they used in the manufacture of any Vydyne resin. Background Information – An integral part of REACh is the development of a “Candiate List” of substances for Authorization. Substances that are included in the Candidate List have been nominated by Member State Competent Authorities, or by ECHA, and have been identified as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC). These substances may have very serious and often irreversible effects on humans and the environment, and may subsequently become subject to authorisation by decision of the European Commission. Substances are added to the Candidate List by ECHA. The inclusion of a substance in the List may impose legal obligations on companies who manufacture, import or use the listed substances on their own, in preparations or in articles. On June 20, 2011, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) officially added the fourth group of substances to this Candidate List. This press release may be found at: http://echa.europa.eu/news/pr/201106/pr_11_15_svhc_candidate_list_en.asp The current Candidate List susbtances are identified below. As more substances are added to the SVHC list and become officially subject to Authorization, Ascend will update this letter. Thank you for your business,
