We are excited about the many steps (literally!) each of your girls have been and will be taking during her participation in Girls on the Run. The girls are working hard, building their stamina and endurance to make it through a full 3.1 mile 5K on May 22nd. Your daughter has the opportunity to join 773 other girls from across WNC to accomplish this amazing goal together, along with family, coaches, friends, and community supporters. The following is information you will need to prepare for the big day. Please contact Stephanie Bilotta, Program Director, with any questions at (828) 713-3132 or [email protected].

Registration for the 5k * PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS & COACHES do NOT need to register for the event. * PARENTS, GUARDIANS, FAMILY MEMBERS, FRIENDS, & COMMUNITY MEMBERS planning to run in the 5k will need to register for the 5k. We greatly encourage each girl to run with a "Running Buddy", someone 16 years of age or older chosen by the participant to run with her for added support and safety during the run. If under 16, they must be accompanied by another registered, adult Running Buddy. If this is a concern or challenge for your family, please discuss with your daughter’s coach. They can serve as a running buddy or help find one for your girl. REGISTER ONLINE at www.gotrwnc.org/5ks. We accept credit cards, checks, money orders, or cash. The registration fee prior to the event is $15. The deadline to receive a guaranteed t-shirt is April 28th (must attend event to receive the shirt). You may register at the event for $20 in cash or check. T-shirts will be available but in limited quantities. If you need assistance getting registered, call Stephanie Bilotta (828) 713-3132.
