Gisele Local schedule rips Pats’ receivers SCOREBOARD

From Wire Services

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. — The Patriots say there’s no finger-pointing after their Super Bowl loss even if Tom SPORTS Brady’s wife, NOTEBOOK supermodel Gisele Bundchen, didn’t appear to get the memo. Bundchen was caught on camera complaining that dropped passes doomed the team to a 21-17 loss to the New York Giants on Sunday — the Patriots’ second loss in the NFL title game in five seasons. Bundchen was caught on video by TheInsider.com responding to a pro-Giants heckler after the game by saying, “My husband cannot (expletive) throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time.” Brady was not available for comment on Monday, when the team flew back from Indianapolis and arrived at Gillette Stadium. Super Bowl tops ratings again NEW YORK — For the third consecutive year, the Super Bowl set a record as the most-watched television show in U.S. history. The Nielsen Co. said Monday that an estimated 111.3 million people watched the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots on Sunday night. That narrowly beat the 111 million who watched Green Bay's win over Pittsburgh last year. Love suspended for stomp MINNEAPOLIS — Emotion got the best of Kevin Love on Saturday night against the Rockets, and now he and the Minnesota Timberwolves have to pay the price. Love, his team’s leading scorer and rebounder, was suspended Monday for two games by the NBA for “driving his foot into the upper body and face of the Rockets’ Luis Scola as Scola was lying on the floor.” It marked the second time last week Love delivered a hard foul after not getting a call on the other end. He raked Pacers forward Danny Granger across the chest on Wednesday, touching off a small skirmish in a loss to Indiana. Cardinals add Cora to mix ST. LOUIS — Looking for a veteran who could satisfy their need for depth, the Cardinals on Monday signed utility infielder Alex Cora to a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training. Cora, 36, had considered retiring to start a career in coaching, and Cards general manager John Mozeliak said that was part of Cora’s attraction to the club. The versatile veteran will offer what Mozeliak described as “an on-field coach” during spring training. Stoudemire’s brother killed LAKE WALES, Fla. — A brother of New York Knicks star Amare Stoudemire died in a Florida car crash Monday after the SUV he was driving slammed into the back of a trailer. Authorities are still investigating and awaiting test results. The Florida Highway Patrol said 35-year-old Hazell Stoudemire was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene. Nationals sign Ankiel WASHINGTON — The Nationals agreed to a minor league contract with outfielder Rick Ankiel on Monday. If added to the 40-man roster, Ankiel would have a $1.25 million, one-year contract and could make $1.5 million in performance bonuses.
