God Talk at Home Two & Three Year-Olds Date: __________ This Week’s Lesson: King Arrives on a Donkey Take Home Point: Praise King Jesus. DRIVE TIME HOME

     

PARENTS, ASK ME WHAT I DID TODAY IN KINGDOM QUEST. Puppet: Bubba learns about the real king. Bible: We heard and acted out Jesus riding into Jerusalem on a donkey. Snack: We ate a sparkly snack that reminded us of kings’ sparkly jewels. Craft: We made a donkey mask to remind us that King Jesus rode a donkey. Game: We played a learning game called If I Were A King and a movement game called Praise Jesus! Singing: To the tune of Row, Row, Row Your Boat. “Praise, praise, praise the King. Jesus is our King. Praise, praise, praise the King. Jesus is our King.”

FAMILY DEVOTIONS: Read the Bible Event or Bible Verse Read about Jesus riding a donkey into Jerusalem from a children’s picture Bible or paraphrase from an adult Bible so your child will understand. (Matthew 21: 1-11) LEARN BY DOING: Gather the family together. Sit in a circle. Have everyone share how he/she would be if they were a king (queen). If you have a crown, have the individual talking wear it. If you do not have one, make a cardstock paper crown. Discuss what it takes to be a “good” king versus a “bad” king. Discuss why Jesus is the best King. POINTS TO REMEMBER:  Jesus is our King.  Jesus loves us.  We can praise Jesus. ECHO PRAYER: Child repeats each line after adult. Dear God, You are with us. We love you. We praise you. You are the King. Thank you, thank you, thank you. In Jesus’ name.
