God, You want me to

DO What?

BE CONTAGIOUS WEEK 4 OCT. 29/30, 2011 (JASON ANDERSON)

For some people the idea of talking to others about matters of faith is outside of their comfort zone. They may live by the motto, “There are two things people should never talk about politics and religion.” But from God’s perspective if there’s one thing believers should talk about it’s what we believe. Jesus said, “Go make disciples of all nations.” But it’s hard to make disciples if we’re unwilling to talk to anyone about Jesus. We may not feel prepared or ready to share our faith, but there is something every believer can do—invite people to church. WHY INVITE PEOPLE TO CHURCH: > We are God’s __________________. > We should __________ _________. WHAT TYPE OF INVITATIONS CAN WE MAKE? > _______________ > ______________ > _______________

RESOURCE To learn how to lead someone to Christ, watch Sr. Pastor Bob Merritt’s message “Lead One” from Nov. 10/11, 2007, from the JUST ONE message series at eaglebrookchurch.com.

key scripture MATTHEW 28:19 (NLT) Go make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. 2 CORINTHIANS 5:17-20 Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. ROMANS 10:13-14 Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

ROMANS 8:1 There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. ROMANS 8:35,37 Can anything separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. REVELATION 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things will be gone forever. MARK 13:11 Do not worry about what to say. Just say whatever is given to you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit.
