God’s Anger Question, When is Yahweh’s anger first mentioned in the Scriptures? Was it when Adam and Eve sinned? Was it when Cain killed Able? Was it when men grew wicked and He had to destroy them through the flood? Was it when men were making the tower of Babel and God separated men by languages? Was it when he had to destroy Sodom & Gomorrah? You may find this surprising but the answer to all of these is “No.” This is not to say that Yahweh wasn’t angry in these cases. However, His anger is never mentioned in ANY of these circumstances. So just when IS Yahweh’s anger first mentioned and why? His anger is first mentioned when He appears to Moses in the burning bush. Compare. Exodus 4:10-14 Moses said to (Yahweh) the LORD, “O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue.” (Yahweh) The LORD said to him, “Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, (Yahweh) the LORD? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” But Moses said, “O Lord, please send someone else to do it.” Then (Yahweh’s) the LORD’s anger burned against Moses. Interesting isn’t it? Out of all the opportunities we could see it, the first time the Father’s anger is recorded in the Scriptures is when someone refuses to do what He tells them to do. In fact, it’s not until the second book of the Scriptures that we see it. A little over 2,000 years of recorded history pass before we are shown a first hand view of what it takes to stir His anger. And it all comes from one man refusing to do what the Father asks of him.

So now the question is, what is the Father asking of you? Just a thought. We pray you have been blessed by this teaching. Remember, continue to test everything. Shalom!
