37TH ANNUAL MEN’S FISHING / GOLF /AND MOTORCYCLE RETREAT OR LAYING AROUND THE CAMP April 28 ̶30 are the dates for the 37th Annual Men’s Fishing/Golf/Motorcycle Retreat. This retreat began 36 years ago when 42 members of Peace originally selected Cedar Creek Park on Lake Whitney for what has become a very significant annual event. This retreat has grown over the years to include friends and family from around the state, the country and the world. Last year at the 36th Annual, we again had more than 150 participants ranging in age from 18 (minimum age) to 86. We will be continuing this 37-year tradition of ministry by sharing much food, fun, fellowship, and a little bit of work during a weekend where participation is realized by the giving of ourselves during the fishing, golfing, cooking, cleaning or whatever. Guys Weekend with Christ Location: From Ft. Worth take I-20 east. Exit right (south) on I-45 towards Corsicana. Take Exit 229 (Hwy 287). Turn left (east) at the light and continue toward Lake Richland Chambers/Palestine. After about 24 miles, turn right (south) onto 488, which goes across the dam. Turn right (west) onto 416 after about 3 miles. Fisherman’s Point will be about 1.5 miles on your right. Turn right and look for a large group of Peaceful men.
Expanded Agenda: The agenda items below and approximate times have been expanded to include early retreat arrivals. The primary retreat agenda begins on Friday at 5:30 p.m.
Wednesday: Noonish – Crew arrives with truck to set up
Thursday: Fishing or golfing at your leisure.
Friday: Day - Fishing or golfing at your leisure 5:30 pm Registration table opens 7:30 pm Check in under the Big Tent
Saturday: Sunrise – Breakfast burritos, Fishermen leave 8:00 am - Golfers leave for course 11:00-2:00 pm - Hamburgers available 12:00-1:30 pm – First Fish Weigh-in 3:00-4:00 pm - Final Fish Weigh-in 5:30 pm - Dinner is served 7:00 pm - Devotional time (Awards ceremony immediately following)
Sunday: 8:00 am - Breakfast is served 9:00 am - Preparation for Worship 10:00 am - Service of Worship Noon - Adjourn for home
