got questions? Can I lose my salvation? As followers of Jesus, we are desperate to know the truth of His Word. We want to know how to take the truth of His Word and live it out in our daily lives. The answer to this question fills a heart need to live secure in a world where nothing seems to be secure. The assurance of salvation brings a peace and joy that leads to abundant life (John 10:10) When we have made Jesus our Lord and Savior, His promise is that NO ONE can snatch us from His hands (John 10:29). However, because we want the whole truth of His Word, it is also clear that as His children, led by the Holy Spirit, our life is to be transformed daily into the image of Christ. So while we wait for His return, will we love Him enough to follow all that He has commanded and live our life for the glory of His Name? SHARING TESTIMONIES Share a brief testimony about a time when you know you heard the Shepherd’s voice. What feelings and emotions came as a result of that encounter? GO DEEPER Why is this question of “can I lose my salvation” so important? Read aloud Romans 8:31-39. What does this passage tell you about the heart of the Father for His children? Discuss the passage in Philippians 1:6 and what it means to followers of Christ? MAKE IT PERSONAL Have you or are you still struggling with the truth of eternal salvation? If so, what are the beliefs or views that are keeping you from accepting this gift? After taking time to examine your life in light of the 10 questions Pastor David posed, what areas of your life are you asking the Father to come and do a new work in order for you to possess what you profess? PRACTICE IT NOW Since we are fully aware that the enemy comes to lie, steal and destroy the peace that comes with knowing that we belong to Jesus, we must be diligent in protecting that truth. Break into groups of 3 or 4 and take time to pray for one another: 1) that the truth revealed in His Word of eternal security will be firmly rooted and cannot be shaken ; 2) our lives will reflect a growing love for our Lord and his people, bearing fruit for His glory; 3) our faith will lead us to share the good news of Jesus with others; 4) thankfulness for the sacrifice of love He made for us on the cross.
