Public Relations and Marketing Specialist

Reports to:

Chamber CEO

F.L.S.A. Status:

Non-exempt from overtime provisions

Nature and Scope: The Public Relations and Marketing Specialist assists the CEO in the comprehensive management of the Green River Chamber of Commerce performing public relations duties, producing marketing materials for the Chamber and other secretarial support. The duties of the Public Relations and Marketing Specialist involve the limited exercise of discretion and independent judgement. Essential Function/Principal Accountabilities: The Public Relations and Marketing Specialist: A. Updates the website and all calendar of events. B. Sends all correspondence out to the membership database through email, newsletter, etc. C. Restocks brochure racks around Green River and in the Visitor Center. D. Provides secretarial support services to the CEO and other agencies as directed. E. Maintains appropriate inventory of office supplies, bathroom supplies, etc. F. Prepares the monthly newsletter. G. Assists tourists, sell tickets, and answer phones. H. Maintains and updates the Chamber Social media accounts. I. Operates various office machines in the course of performing assigned duties. J. Sends press releases out to the media as needed. K. Assists in planning Ribbon Cuttings and any other Chamber events. L. A valid driver’s license and dependable vehicle.

Other Functions: The Public Relations and Marketing Specialist: A. Maintains friendly and cooperative working relationships with the CEO, Board Members, general membership, and the public. B. Identifies and performs other related duties as required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: The Public Relations and Marketing Specialist: A. The ability to type accurately at a rate of 50 words per minute. B. Ability to operate personal computer equipment. C. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. D. Ability to operate office machines including, but not limited to, photocopying machines, printers, etc. E. Ability to work well under limited supervision F. Ability to tolerate occasional exposure to cold, heat, and other outdoor related elements. G. Ability to read and comprehend written material of technical nature. H. Ability to lift weights of up to 40 pounds. I. Ability and willingness to work with horses during summer season. Education and Experience: The position of the Public Relations and Marketing Specialist requires a High School Diploma or Associate’s Degree. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
