Guest Services Director (Next Step Ministry) Full-Time SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES The Guest Services Director (Next Step Ministry) manages all Guest Services volunteer teams. Leads the recruitment and training of all new volunteers. Acts as the liaison to other NewSpring ministries on behalf of Guest Services for events requiring Guest Service involvement. Seeks to improve vision, strategy, and execution of Guest Services ministry. This position communicates with NewSpring Staff and ministry volunteers regularly. The incumbent must perform all job duties as outlined in this job description to support ongoing mission of the church while committed in accordance with the Baptist Faith and Message (2000 edition). ESSENTIAL DUTIES • • • • • •

Manages Guest Services team execution during each of the weekend services and any special events involving Guest Services. This also includes assisting the volunteer team captains as needed for the effective execution of weekend tasks. (app. 30%) Works with Next Step Ministry leadership to develop and direct vision and strategy for Guest Services ministry. (app.15%) Responsible for implementing continued volunteer growth strategies for Guest Services. (app.10%) Establishes and executes an ongoing training program for all existing and new volunteers. (app.15%) Manages Guest Services database processes for volunteer scheduling. (app. 10%) Coordinates, on a weekly basis, the volunteers on the Guest Services, Medical Team and the Auditorium replenishment teams. This includes communications through Planning Center, phone, email, text, etc. Works with Next Step Team leaders to properly communicate with existing and new volunteers. (app. 10%) Assists Next Step Ministry leadership with Guest Services budget management and manages Guest Services resource inventory. (communion supplies, etc.) (app. 5%) Leads & plans Guest Services volunteer appreciation events. (app. 5%) These duties are subject to change as church needs and strategies evolve. Employee may be required to perform other duties

EDUCATION/TRAINING • •

College courses in a related field are preferred A minimum of a high school diploma is required

EXPERIENCE •

Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a supervisory role or experience with leading volunteers

REQUIRED SKILLS • • • • •

Public Speaking ability Team leadership skills and experience Ability to relate to the general public; having a positive and engaging personality Computer proficiency Working knowledge of Planning Center preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: • Standing for long periods of time, sitting, hearing, and talking. • Must be able to lift up to at least 10 pounds WORKING CONDITIONS •
