Hamleys Events Assistant Job Description Reporting Manager: Marketing and Events Manager, Events Assistant Manager and Floor/ Store Manager

Job Purpose Summary To exceed our customers’ expectations within the store by creating and presenting engaging performances, conducting historically factual in-character tours and ensuring the smooth operational running of Children’s parties and private hire/ company organised functions and other store activities.

What you will be required to do as a Hamleys Events Assistant:                   

To provide children’s Party/ private hire Guests and customers with first class levels of customer service and entertainment at all times. Provide award winning customer service by following Hamleys PLAY service strategy To actively participate in supporting the goals of the store Management team, driving footfall by creating an element of theatre and enhancing the overall customer experience. To be engaging, effectively drawing the customer into the magic of the store and making the experience exciting To accurately and efficiently run all parties and private/ company organised functions and train staff as appropriate To deliver the service orientated approach to the Hamleys customer thereby delivering a high rate of party bookings To demonstrate an ability to increase sales through effectively increasing the number of potential and returning customers by offering an exciting events program To project the company image with a professional and positive attitude to internal and external customers To support Hamleys trading and promotional programme by organizing complementary events and performances in store To support the store in delivering award winning service To demonstrate effective communication and performing skills To share knowledge and information with other members of the team To effectively communicate with all the team on promotional and operational information To use the Hamleys ‘Spotlight on Me’ to develop new skills and enhance existing skills To gain product knowledge expertise within the history of products in the store, sharing this with the team and delivering your knowledge to customers/visitors during site tours To give a professional, informed description and show an in-depth knowledge of key product lines, using live demonstration to highlight key features when appropriate To efficiently adhere to all Company procedures and policies, effectively deputing for the Management team in their absence To provide a safe environment, following Health & Safety guidelines/ risk assessments for products, and to be aware of the security of the floor To adapt to the ever-changing needs of the business with a positive attitude
