Seasonal Reminders
As we enter the holiday season, a few reminders to help make it a safe and enjoyable time: • Take care while shopping. Stay aware of your surroundings and place all packages and gifts in the locked trunk of your vehicle. • At home, do not display gifts where they can be seen from a window or doorway. • If traveling during the holidays, have a friend or family member check on your home and pick up newspapers, etc. • Record the serial numbers of any new possessions and inscribe your contact information if possible. • Be mindful when discarding packaging so as to not tip off potential thieves to any new items of value in the house. • If you see any suspicious activity in the neighborhood, alert the authorities. • Lastly, please remember that HBRPOA CC&Rs specify that holiday decorative lighting may be displayed only between Thanksgiving and January 10th. Homeowner Association Dues
As a reminder, 2006 Residential Property Owner’s Association dues in the amount of $347.83 were due January 31, 2006. Homeowners delinquent in their payments will be assessed a $15.00 late fee each month for payments received after January 31, 2006. Newsletter Update
Over the past year, Peel, Inc. has published and mailed this newsletter at no cost to the Association. This will be the last issue provided under that arrangement. We may experience a delay in the delivery of subsequent issues as we search for a new vendor, but we will resume regularly scheduled distribution as soon as possible. Many thanks to Peel, Inc. for their assistance in providing this valuable service to our Association.
Fireworks
With New Year’s Eve approaching, please be aware that it is illegal to deploy fireworks within city limits. Despite our rural setting, all of Harris Branch is within the City Limits. Please be considerate of your neighbors and their property and refrain from using fireworks within our neighborhood.

Members of the forum receive meeting announcements and special notices about issues affecting the Harris Branch Residential Property Owner’s Association. Praline Sweet Potatoes 4 cups mashed sweet potatoes 1/2 cup white sugar 2 tablespoons vanilla extract 4 eggs, beaten 1/2 pint heavy cream 1/4 pound butter 1 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1 1/4 cups chopped pecans
Play Group
Butter one 2 quart casserole dish. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a mixing bowl, combine the sweet potatoes, sugar, vanilla extract, eggs and cream. Blend well, and spread evenly in casserole dish. Prepare the topping by combining the butter, brown sugar, flour and pecans. Mix until crumbly, and sprinkle over sweet potato mixture. Bake for 30 minutes in the preheated oven.

Some neighborhood parents have recently formed a play group. The group is informal and participants take turn hosting. The group consists of stay at home moms and moms that work outside the home, so play dates may fall during the week or on weekends.
