HAWAII WETLANDS – OAHU In Phase I of a multiyear endeavor, partners will acquire, restore, and enhance 6,147 acres of wetlands and associated uplands on the island of Oahu. Partners’ conservation actions will focus on 7 of Oahu’s 15 primary wetlands, or approximately 20 percent of the island’s total wetland acreage. Protecting these habitats will help with the recovery of four of the six extant Hawaiian waterbird species: Hawaiian stilt, coot, moorhen, and duck. PROJEC T NAME 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.
