HELPING OTHERS, HELP OTHERS W H I R L P O O L C A N A D A • U N I T E D WAY C A M PA I G N For over a decade, Whirlpool Canada has run an internal fundraising campaign in support of United Way. Each year, their financial and participation goals are increased, and each year, the bar is raised with creative themes that are fun, relevant and engaging. In 2015, ‘Get on Board’ campaign was launched. DIGITAL COMMUNICATION TOOLS The theme of the campaign was experiencing the world through travel. It celebrated the travel experience, different world destinations, and their cultures.

CAMPAIGN LOGO

The common desire for world travel, and a multicultural team made the campaign exciting and appealing to all at Whirlpool Canada. A campaign logo and posters gave shape to the idea, and helped generate buzz within the Whirlpool office, and digital communication tools were created to announce themed events. A mock passport book was created to encourage participation, and images of the leadership team were incorporated into the designs, creating a personal touch and helping build team spirit amongst employees.

PARTICIPATION PASSSPORT

Donations and pledges were tracked with a large format progress board, keeping the campaign goals top of mind. The “Get on Board” campaign exceeded their fundraising goal by raising over $238K, an increase of 38% from the previous year. Employee participation also hit an all-time high of 90%, helping Whirlpool Canada, once again raise the bar in their support for local communities.
