Heritage Praise & Prayer Guide October 14 – October 20, 2018

Sunday, October 14 • Daily Bible Reading – 1 Corinthians 9-11 • Corporate Gathering – Praise God for the ability to meet together and to worship our God! Ask that The Spirit would enable us to live in light of the Word that was preached today. Pray that we would live out the person of Jesus throughout this week! • Missions – Pray for the ministry of Rich and Julia Rudolph (Servant Leaders—Germany). Continue to pray for Marco (new Believer), ask for the Holy Spirit to continue to give him a desire for growth. Pray for Nico (new Believer), pray for him as he is pursuing baptism. Monday, October 15 • Daily Bible Reading – 1 Corinthians 12-14 • For Our Giving – Pray for the giving of our church family to accomplish the mission of Heritage. Praise God for the generous offering this week! Ask for the Holy Spirit to stir within all of us a spirit of generosity! Pray for those who do not give to see the importance of it. Pray for those who do give, that they would find the joy that comes through giving. • Missions – Pray for the ministry of Sana and Nancy Singh (BMM Bible International—India). Continue to ask the Holy Spirit to bring growth in the life of the lady who recently was saved; pray for Nancy as she disciples her. Pray for good health for both Sana and Nancy. Tuesday, October 16 • Daily Bible Reading – 1 Corinthians 15-16 • For Our Community Groups – Praise God for the growth of deep relationships and learning happening in Community Groups! Ask that God raise up more leaders and co-leaders to launch more groups. Pray for continued growth in these groups, especially as they minister to those who do not know Jesus. • Missions – Pray for the ministry of Becca Baca (WOL—Brazil). Pray for Becca as she serves the Lord through ministering to those around her. Ask for the Holy Spirit to give her wisdom to balance ministry and school, as well as an ability to pick up the language.

Wednesday, October 17 • Daily Bible Reading – 2 Corinthians 1-4 • For Our Prayer Groups – Praise God for those who regularly set aside time during the week to pray with one another and the small increase of new prayer warriors! Ask for the Holy Spirit to draw more people to these opportunities to experience the privilege and joy of praying together! Pray that God would choose to bless this ministry as we are reminded to keep our dependence on Him. • Missions – Pray for the ministry of Mike and Shari Gockley (Extend the Gospel—Montreal). Pray for the students in training: Jay, Jordan, Geoff, Simon, Trenton, Ryan, Craig and Matt. Ask that God would sovereignly use this time to help them in their future ministries. Pray for wisdom as they train, work, and learn while they balance the other responsibilities that they have. Ask for the Holy Spirit to give a desire to share the Gospel, as well as opportunities to do so.

Thursday, October 18 • Daily Bible Reading – 2 Corinthians 5-9 • For Ministry Leaders – Pray for those who are serving our church in a leadership role. Ask that God would give them continued joy and wisdom as they lead. Pray that they would keep focused on ministering to our church family. • Missions – Pray for the ministry of Tim and Laura Compton (ABWE—Thailand). Please pray for the Comptons as they learn and study the language. Ask for the Holy Spirit to work supernaturally to allow them to understand the language quickly. Friday, October 19 • Daily Bible Reading – 2 Corinthians 10-13 • For Hospitality towards Guests - It is so easy to neglect those who are visiting for the first time on Sunday. Pray that our church body would see and minister to guests. Ask for the Holy Spirit to allow us to demonstrate biblical hospitality to them. Pray that God would protect us from acting in such a way that is not modeled by His Son, Jesus. • Missions – Pray for the ministry of Tim and Barb Vermilyea (ABWE—Quebec). They are finishing up their traveling to supporting churches. Ask for God to raise up future missionaries and church planters in those churches. Pray for their continued safety while traveling and their transition back. Remember Mustafa and Eva, the Syrian Kurdish couple whom they’ve been ministering to. Ask for the Holy Spirit to soften their hearts! Saturday, October 20 • Daily Bible Reading – Romans 1-3 • Our Sunday Ministry– Pray for our church body who will be serving in a variety of ways tomorrow. Ask that they would be refreshed and ready to serve. Pray that The Spirit of God would allow focus as we praise and exult the name of Jesus! • Missions – Pray for the ministry of Kristi Walker (ABWE—Berlin, Germany). Pray for her youth intern Caleb Curtis, as he still is waiting on his visa. His appointment is next Wedneday. Ask that God would move and provide that before he needs to leave the country. Pray for Kristi as she ministers to a friend from high school, who has fallen away from her faith. She is interested in coming back to church. Ask for the Holy Spirit to keep drawing her! Feel free to also send them a note of encouragement letting them know you prayed for them this week!
