Merry Christmas to our SJA family We hope your family has a very merry Christmas and enjoys the Christmas break. SJA will be closed beginning with an early dismissal on Friday, December 21st through Tuesday, January 1st.
Home & School Association (HSA) Who: The St. Joan of Arc Home & School Association (HSA) is the formal association binding the parents, students, and teachers more closely. It is a volunteer parent-run group consisting of parent volunteers and board members including a President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Communications Officer, Events Officer, and Members-at-Large. What: The board coordinates fundraisers, sponsors events for the children and families at SJA, and manages the HSA budget. The HSA raises funds throughout the school year in anticipation of presenting a check to the school at the end of the year. The school determines the best use of the funds to benefit the students. Communication is provided in the monthly SJA Home & School Association Newsletter, in the weekly family updates, on the SJA school site, and on the SJA Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/St.joanofarcHSA. When: Board members meet on a monthly basis. Board members also have established bimonthly HSA Parent Update Meetings as a way to update parents on current HSA events. All parents are encouraged to attend these bimonthly meetings. The next HSA Parent Update meeting will be a brief meeting held after the awards ceremony on December 11th. Why: The goal of this group is to work towards fostering communication, sharing ideas, and keeping everyone informed of opportunities for active involvement in the experiences which will enrich our children's lives. Additionally, parents who volunteer for events or activities hosted by the HSA will receive the equivalent number of hours for time volunteered (1 hour = 1 credit hour) towards their required annual Volunteer Hours at SJA (20 hours per family).
