Hopkins Community Forest Day Saturday, July 14th 2018 8:30am-2:30pm Hopkins invites you for our VOLUNTEER DAY and Lunch in the Woods on Saturday, July 14th 8:30am-2:30pm. Come join us for CFD at Hopkins Demonstration Forest 16750 South Brockway Road, Oregon City. http://www.demonstrationforest.org. Projects and Events 

Milling Operations We have a huge load of cedar that needs to be milled and edged to make siding for the new restroom facility. This is going to be a multi-day project, so we really need some folks willing to learn the process and return on a non-CFD so we can complete the milling by the end of July.

Mapping the Forest with a Resource Grade GPS We are working to develop a new map of the trails, roads, and other landmarks. We will use a GPS to locate those points of interest. Come learn how to collect this data and use a professional resource grade GPS.

Trailhead Clearing and Brushing Supervisor Clackamas County is providing a work crew, and we need someone willing to supervise and guide their efforts as they clear the trails and trailheads of unwanted brush.

Poison Oak Patrol We need a volunteer or two to head out, locate the poison oak that is in our high use areas, and take it down. We have several methods to use.

LEARN BY DOING—IT’S THE HOPKINS WAY WE MANAGE OUR FOREST! Lunch provided @ noon At 12:30, we will be serving up lunch for all to enjoy at Hopkins Hall.
