IASSC On-Demand Web-Based Examination Instructions and Support The process of taking an IASSC On-Demand Web-Based Exam is simple and is comprised of just a few steps as detailed below. These instructions explain all of the “how-to” aspects related to On-Demand Web-Based Exams from: Purchasing an Exam Voucher to Registering in the Passport System to Scheduling an Exam to Pre-exam Setup to Completing a Web-Based Certification Exam. These instructions can be viewed online.

How to Purchase Exam Vouchers Visit the IASSC Processing Center and click on “Certification Exam Vouchers” in the Primary Navigation then select the desired Exam and proceed to Checkout. After completing Checkout you will receive an automatic email from [email protected] containing your Exam Voucher and Instructions for Registering and Scheduling your exam in the testing system known as Passport. It is recommended you add [email protected] to your safe senders list to be sure you receive our emails. If you do not receive your Exam Voucher and Instructions email (View Sample Email) within 30 minutes from completing your Checkout look in your Spam folder before requesting support from [email protected]. If you are purchasing a bulk number of Exam Vouchers for a group of people you will receive multiple emails each containing a unique Exam Voucher and Instructions. You will need to distribute these emails to the appropriate people so they can Register and Schedule their exams using the proper Exam Vouchers.

How to Register to the Testing System Passport All IASSC On-Demand Web-Based Exams are conducted within a Testing System known as Passport. Passport is operated and administered by IASSCʼs official Examination Institute, The PeopleCert Group. After you have completed your Exam Voucher Purchase, as described above, and received the Instruction email containing your Exam Voucher, the first instruction will be to Register to the Passport Testing System. During registration you will be asked to provide some standard information and you will be sent an activation link from [email protected] to verify your account. It is recommended that you add [email protected] to your safe senders list to be sure you receive our emails. If you do not receive this email within 30 minutes of submitting your registration check your Spam folder before requesting support from [email protected]. If you are a returning customer already registered to the Passport Testing System from a previous Exam, you may skip this step and proceed to the next.

How to Schedule an Exam within the IASSC Testing System Passport After you have completed your Registration to the Testing System, as described above, you will be ready to schedule your Exam. Log into the Passport Testing System if you are not already. Then select “Register for an Exam” in the left hand column. Select the “Using an Exam Voucher” option and enter the Exam Voucher that was delivered to you in the Instruction email then click “Submit“. Information about your Exam will be automatically populated. The Exam Voucher you enter defines the Exam you have purchased and will take. You will be asked a couple of brief questions such as your time zone and country then click “Next“. A calendar will populate allowing you to select a date and a time you would like to take your Exam. Exams can be scheduled for any time; 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. Also you can schedule your Exam to be conducted as soon as 2 days after you have registered. Once you have selected your desired date and time click “Register for the Exam“. You will be asked to confirm your selected date and time then you will be redirected to a page showing your scheduled Exam and an email will be sent to you confining your selected date and time. Save this email, it contains a link to execute your Exam at the scheduled time.

How to ensure you are ready for your On-Demand Web-Based Exam Before you take the exam you need to ensure: •

You have a valid photo ID available, in which Latin characters are used, such as a Passport, National ID card, Driving License, Social Insurance Card or equivalent, as you will be requested to provide proper identification to your Web Proctor; also known as the Invigilator.

Check your computer for the following hardware and system requirements: • • • • • •

Hardware requirements: Make sure the following hardware is installed in your computer: 16-bit monitor (at least 15”) with screen resolution 1024 x 768 or higher and zoom at 100%. (What is my screen resolution?) Keyboard and mouse or other pointing device A web camera you can rotate 360 degrees An active Full-Time/Broadband internet connection of at least 4Mbps. (What is my internet speed?) System requirements: Make sure the following applications are installed in your computer: Internet Explorer 7 or higher or Mozilla Firefox 2 or higher. (What am I using?) Java Runtime and JavaScript needs to be enabled (Test to see if your Java is enabled and working?) If it is not here is how you can enable it: on Internet Explorer, on Mozilla Firefox

On the day of the exam ensure: • • • • • •

No additional camera or screen is connected to your computer. You are the only person in the room throughout the Exam session. There is no background noise in the room. There is adequate light with no direct light pointing towards the web camera. Your desk is clean and clear. All phones in the area are deactivated.

How to Execute the Exam at your Scheduled Time Step 1: 15 minutes prior to your Exam locate the Instruction email you received confirming your Exam at the scheduled time and click the link to join the meeting as shown here. After clicking the link you will be directed to a web page where you will select “Join Meeting“. You may be asked to install a GoToMeeting application. This is normally a quick and simple process requiring only a couple of clicks. Once you have successfully joined the meeting you will be greeted by your Web Proctor who will guide you through the following steps and remain with you through the duration of your Exam. Step 2: Your Web Proctor will instruct you to; Check your audio and video performance, Show your ID to the camera, Share your screen with your Web Proctor and Close any other applications running on your computer. (Please note that for security purposes your Exam session will be recorded.) Step 3: Next your Web Proctor will instruct you to log into the Passport Testing System where you will enter your Candidate ID and Examination PΙΝ as provided by your Web Proctor. Step 4: After logging in you will quickly be asked to confirm that your personal details are accurate. If all is correct you will proceed to the next step by clicking “next“. Step 5: You will be presented with the General Terms of Use of the NonDisclosure Agreement that you must review and agree to in order to proceed with the Exam. Step 6: You are now ready to begin your Exam. Read the Exam Instruction on the screen carefully before you start the Exam. At this time you may download the Reference Document by clicking on the “Print the Reference Document” button. Next, begin to answer the questions presented to you. The menu on the left shows all the question numbers. You can go from one question to the next by clicking on the question number. The bullet next to a question shows the active question you are currently working on. To return to a question, you can flag it by checking the button next to the question number on the left menu. To unflag it, unclick the button. You can flag more than one question. To answer a question click the circle of the answer you want. You can change your answer by clicking on a different answer. You may review a question as many times as you want during the allotted time. You will have the option to use the built-in calculator throughout the Exam. Step 7: When you have completed all the answers to your satisfaction click “End Exam” on the right menu to finish and submit your Exam. You will then be asked

  to confirm you would like to end your Exam. Once submitted no changes can be made. Questions that have not been answered are marked as incorrect. When you finish your Exam the Exam Results Report is shown. Please note these results are provisional and subject to verification by IASSC and the PeopleCert Group. Click the Print Report button to print the report. At this point the Exam session is completed and you may close the web browser. Your official results will be communicated to you within 5 business days.
