IMPACT GROUP QUESTIONS

AUTHORITY TO HEAL LUKE 7:1-17 AUGUST 4, 2019

Opening: What truths impacted you most from the sermon/passage? Inform the Head, Stir the Heart 1. Please look back at Luke 7:1-10. What things do we tend to do to try to get Jesus to marvel at us? What about the centurion made Jesus marvel, and why is this important?

2. Please compare what the servant’s said about the centurion with what the centurion said about himself. How do you think Jesus would have responded if the centurion said the same thing about himself that his servants said about him? What does this tell you about the connection between humility and faith?

Please read Psalm 146:5-10 3. Please list the things God does in this passage and explain how Jesus fulfills each of these things.

4. Please read Psalm 146:5. Why is hoping in the Lord important? In what things do we tend to put our hope instead?

5. Looking back at the things you saw about Jesus in this passage, how does hoping in other things compare to what God can do?

Challenge the Will Based on what you learned from the study, or read in the passage, what actions/focus do you need to pursue in order to draw closer to the Lord (i.e. Come to Jesus with your struggles, have faith in His ability to heal…anywhere…anytime, have no limit to what you request – allowing God’s will to be filled)?
