Kids ask, “What do I do?” Make it a habit! Make it centralized: tinyurl.com/kao-7-math
I ask, “What are you doing?!” ! Computer screens face me: ! When testing I am in the back of the room scanning. ! Flip Flop math, computer stations face away from the
front of the room to minimize their distractions and so I have full view of screens while working in the front.
! It’s ok to flip chairs! Students will start the class whole
group with chairs facing the front, flip their chairs around when it’s computer time.
! Holding students accountable through BrainPop,
KhanAcademy, and Online Assessments
Kids say, “I got what score?! I give up.” Communicate which items will have a score entered after the assessment. Set these items to a 0 point value until after entered. Circulate and grade on the spot.
I say, “If you can’t prove it…” ! Paper versions of online tests for: ! Showing your work ! Tracking and annotating ! Lost computer privileges L
