PRINCIPALS MESSAGE Welcome back to another fantastic year at IDEA Academy Weslaco!!! We are very excited to see your child and move them along their journey to and through college! Our Parent Weekly will be going out on Mondays this year. We hope more parents will receive it and the communication we include. We now have a school facebook page for parents “IDEA Weslaco”. We will be sending information about early release, no school days, and lots of pictures with students, celebrating their successes. Like our page and follow us throughout the school year. We are very happy to see our students and begin to help students reach this year’s goals. Here are some tips to help your child be successful at IDEA Weslaco:      

Have a place for your child to do their homework every day Make sure your child is going to bed at a reasonable time Check your child’s homework Communicate with your child’s teacher on a regular basis Be at school on time Be at school everyday

We will enforce our uniform policy. Students should have blue IDEA polo’s, Khaki flat front pants or shorts, Black belt, and all Black shoes (no other color, you can take a marker or shoe polish to eliminate color on shoes). Below are examples of Appropriate and inappropriate shoes.

We will be sending uniform violation forms home when students are not in the correct uniform. Parents will need to sign it and return the form to school. If the student is out of compliance a second time parents will receive a phone call from the teacher. If students are out of compliance a third time, they will have time taken away from their recess. IDEA’s mission is to ensure that 100% of IDEA students are successful in college. In alignment with its mission, IDEA creates a culture in which students can focus their energy on their academics and not on what they are wearing. Thus, IDEA requires each student to wear a uniform.
