IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS Dear IDEA Weslaco Families, We are excited for another wonderful school year upon us. This year, I would like to keep you up to date with assignments, fitness gram, and other important information being taught in PE for grades 3rd-5th. I have created grade level classes using the app Remind 101. The link to connect is as follows: www.remind.com/join/37349b There will be 3 grade levels to choose from. This is only for grades 3rd-5th since these are the grades that test over Fitness Gram, keep a PE journal, and carry the journal with them daily. PRINCIPALS MESSAGE We hope you have a great Labor Day Weekend! We are excited to see everyone back in school today. Third through 5th grade has begun their bi-weekly assessments on Fridays. We ask that you do not take your child out early so that they may take the assessment. These assessments help teachers know what your child understands and does not understand. Teachers reteach and enrich their following week’s lessons based on these results so that they may ensure that all students are successful. Here at IDEA, we believe in promoting a healthy life for our students through PE and the cafeteria. Your child is welcome to eat whatever you send as long as they do not share with other students. Please speak with your child about not sharing their lunch. The month of September is National Library Card sign up month. We encourage you to sign your child up for a library card at your local public library. Books that your child checks out at a public library are testable in our AR labs.
