IDEA SAN JUAN TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT Every year IDEA’s Transportation Department celebrates a School Bus Roadeo with the intention to gather our drivers to compete in a series of obstacle courses and in-classroom knowledge. Besides the incredible experience of interacting and learning from each other, this unique opportunity is used to identify the areas where new and existing drivers may need additional training and development while testing their skills in a safe environment. So with the same level of excitement, I want you to join me in recognizing our IDEA San Juan Transportation Team for winning “Best Performing Campus” in their respective categories and a huge congratulations to Mr. Gonzalo Garza for winning “Best Performing Driver”!

IDEA SAN JUAN TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT On behalf of the IDEA San Juan Art Department and IDEA Public Schools, you are invited to our 9th annual district art exhibition, "Unite for the Ninth," at the McAllen Creative Incubator. Opening reception will be tomorrow, Friday, March 2nd, from 7 to 9 pm. Refreshments will be served and the public is welcomed. Please find our flyer attached. Works from Mr. Gama’s and Miss Rodriguez, and Miss Correa will be on display from March 1-30, along with work from IDEA Mission, Quest, McAllen, Pharr, Alamo, Weslaco, WeslacoPike and San Benito. HUGE shout out to Miss Rodriguez for doing an incredible job coordinating our exhibition. Come early or stay later for the March Art Walk. There will be other artists displaying their work, and the McAllen food truck park is an easy walk from the Incubator. See you at the exhibition! Cristina A. Correa Studio Art & Art History Instructor Visual Art Curriculum Manager

Healthy Kids Here wants to ensure our students are staying hydrated and building good water-drinking habits. So in honor of World Water Day (on March 22nd), we are launching a district-wide competition to see which campus can consume the most water!* Here’s how it works: -Starting Monday (March 5th), we will begin tracking the water consumed on campus through the Flow Way tracking system on your water fountains. -We will continue to track consumption through March 23rd. -Whichever campus consumes the most water* during that window will win an awesome Healthy Kids Here-sponsored prize! *Note: water consumption will be measured per capita to ensure there are no advantages/disadvantages due to scaling (similar to the way we track 5K participation)
