In to Education, Employment and Training Panel Guidance Notes Purpose To share information and identify employability and education/training support solutions for young people aged 14-19 (25 if SEND and/or care leaver) who are NEET or at risk of being NEET and have other barriers to employment e.g. mental health, anxiety, challenging behaviour and may not be eligible for ECH plans and/or adult social care. The panel will receive referrals from professionals and young people/families who have barriers to employment, education and training and unable to access opportunities. Panel This panel meets a minimum of 4 times a year but will meet more frequently subject to number of referrals and is attended by:  Youth Connect  SEND Team  Disabled Children Team  Adult Transition Social Workers  Virtual School for Children in Care  Children in care & Moving on Team  Youth Offending Service  Bath College.  Learn Direct  Job centre plus How to refer  If you have an internal Bathnes.gov.uk email address you can email the completed referral form to Youth Connect [email protected] .  Upload the completed form to Youth Connect Globalscape account.  Send completed form by post or deliver by hand to the address on the referral form. If the referral is accepted for the panel meeting you will be asked to attend to discuss the referral. If the referral is not accepted it will be forwarded to Youth Connect and you will receive support via that service. Why a referral might not be accepted:  Referral is outside of the age range  Referral doesn’t not live in BANES (unless placed in care outside or at residential placement outside of the authority)



Referral hasn’t explored normal pathways to employment, education and training and this can be resolved accessing the Youth Connect service Outcomes  Pathway regarding accessing employment, education and training or other aspirations discussed and agreed  Information and support to access adult social care and the transitions panel where appropriate.  Exploration if an EHC plan is a recommended way forward if the young person doesn’t have one.  Referral and young person will receive feedback
