OVERVIEW We know that a foundation of strong attendance behavior is built at an early age. Our district is working hard to educate our parents, students, and the community as a whole about the importance of early grade level attendance. In support of our Every Minute Matters campaign we have designed a fun and interactive system called the Mighty Minutes Incentive Program. This system rewards and encourages students daily, weekly, and at the end of the marking period for the effort they put into being in school every day. We encourage you to use each of the activities described below as an opportunity to talk about the importance of attendance with your students and recognize them for positive attendance behaviors. REGISTRATION You will receive an email invitation to create a password. Once your account is activated, visit mightyminutes.everyminutemattersrcsd.org to access the daily check-in function and Mighty Minutes Weekly Reveals. Chrome is the recommended web browser for this system. We suggest that you bookmark both mightyminutes.everyminutemattersrcsd.org and the check-in page.

DAILY CHECK-IN PROCESS At your discretion and tied in with your existing attendance procedures, access the daily check-in tab from the main Mighty Minutes page (after logging in) or by visiting: mightyminutes.everyminutemattersrcsd.org/daily On the check-in page, students will take turns checking in each day. Pushing the check-in button on the Smart Board will trigger fun, audible and visual feedback to reinforce and encourage the student’s attendance. This check-in action is not directly tied to the attendance system or the outcome of the Weekly Reveal. The goal of this check-in activity is create the impression of a link between each student’s attendance with the marking period incentive, in a fun and encouraging way.

WEEKLY REVEAL PROCESS Each week, you will receive an email with your attendance percentage from the previous week. Visit mightyminutes.everyminutemattersrcsd.org and perform a weekly reveal of the reward image. One of nine (9) images will be revealed based on the classroom’s overall attendance percentage for the previous week. The images serve as a clue to the final grand prize at the end of the marking period (see reveal schedule below). Be sure to enter the exact percentage to the given decimal to ensure accuracy. An attendance percentage can only be entered once per week, so double check the number before entering. If a score is entered incorrectly you can change it by clicking the “Edit Score” link in the bottom right corner of the incorrect week’s image. If you need to perform the image reveal for a week that has passed you can access all of the weeks by clicking the “progress” link at the top of the Mighty Minutes page and selecting the appropriate week.
PRIZE AWARDING PROCESS At the end of the marking period, the overall class attendance percentage will be used to determine which prize tier the class falls into for the marking period. Prizes will be distributed to the class the following week.

MIGHTY MINUTES BUCKS
The Mighty Minutes Image Reveal is a way to reward and incentivize your students and families for their efforts across the entire marking period but you can also reward your students for their individual efforts on a daily and weekly basis. You will receive a supply of Mighty Minutes Bucks that students can redeem at your school store or as seen fit by your principal. We have four recommended attendance behaviors for which teachers can reward their students:

Students who have perfect attendance for the previous week earn one Mighty Minutes Buck

Students who are on time every day for the previous week earn one additional Mighty Minutes Buck
3
Students who make an extra effort to attend on a bad weather day get one additional buck (at the teachers discretion)
4
Teachers can recognize students they feel are making an extra effort to improve their attendance with one additional buck at their discretion.
